Kaylyn's POV
I was awakened by groans and moans, coming my way. Forge and Raph were already up, trying desperately not to flee in terror. Soon, walkers started pouring out in every direction. I shot up, grabbed my things and ran. Forge and Raph, bolted another way, but not far from my own. I sprinted through the brush, dodging tree after tree, trying to shake the walkers, cursing to myself the whole way. "Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!" They were still on my ass, and coming in hot. I though walkers were supposed to move slow, guess not!
So now, I'm currently stuck in a tree, with about ten walkers at the bottom of it. Raph and Forge knew to run off, to find a safe place and find me later, but I had no idea what happened to them. Taking my bow from my back, I shot down four, and had about five more arrows left, so I used them up. They all dropped to the ground but one, it groaned and reached up towards me. Taking out my knife, I chucked it into its skull. Checking around for anymore zombies, I slowly climbed down. Grabbing my duffel bag off the ground, I fixed my outfit, well this...
Retrieving my arrows and knife, I called out to Raph and Forge, who came bouncing out of some bushes. Petting their head, I mounted forge and placed my second duffel bag around the saddle horn. We began our travel again, heading further north, to god knows where.
About an hour after walking, I came across a creek. Might as well stock up... I dismounted to take a drink of water. While I was enjoying the cool, clear refreshment, the sound of people was apparent. Some people shouting a name, and some sobbing, coming out of the woods about fifty yards away. Pausing a bit, I slipped off my bag of clothes and supplies, and motioned for the others to wait. Raph whimpered, but sat down on his haunches. Forge laid his ears back and did the same. I made sure that they were out of sight, before continuing my trip.
Jumping on a couple stones, I successfully crossed the stream and laid down on the opposite sloped bank. Going across a few more yards and crawling up the slope, I peered over to see people trudging through a field. Living People! This was the first human contact I had in weeks! They were shouting the name 'Sophia'. I normally stay away from people I meet, either because they try to kill me, don't trust me or die. It's so much to handle, I found it better to be alone. There was three men, two women, and a little boy. They had weapons, and seemed well enough, They won't want me, might as well go... Sighing, I backed away. But clumsy me, stepped on a branch and it snapped under my weight. I froze, I knew what this meant, they would come to investigate, any common human would. The voices lowered and whispering began.
"What was that?" A female asked.
"I don't know. I'ma check it out." A male answered.
Ah shit... Thinking quick, I leaped forward and began to run, not wanting to get caught or seen. The leaves crunched as I flew from my spot. I bit my lip as I tried to muffle the sound as much as I could. I ran full speed to a tree, and with one last jump, I was up in no time. Not five seconds later, a man came into the tree line, holding a crossbow. He was tall, wore a sleeveless shirt, had brownish hair, a little facial hair, and actually looked pretty handsome... No Kaylyn! Don't think like that! You can't like someone, they'll just leave you! I thought bitterly to myself.
