Moving schools is never easy. Especially when you're halfway through your junior year.

I've moved twice before this, but because a Hurricane came through and practically destroyed my neighborhood. I had no choice but to move to Tennessee to stay with some family of mine.

My name is Jessany King, but most people call me Jess.

I'm your normal everyday Junior. Well, at least I was. Now that I'm going to a new school, I'm going to be known as the new girl. It's quite like being a kids shiny new toy. It's great to have at first, but then it gets forgotten after a while.

I finally decided that it was time to get out of bed and start getting ready for school.

I hopped in the shower and washed my hair and my body, and when I was done I put on some light eyeliner, and some mascara, and wrapped my hair in a towel while I got dressed.

First day at a new school? First impressions definitely matter to me.

So I grabbed a plain white tank top, a black flannel, my faded skinny jeans, and my white wedges.

After getting dressed I dried my hair and threw it into a messy bun on top of my head, and with that, I was ready to go.

"Do you want some waffles?" My mom asked me as I came downstairs.

"Just one. I've got to get going." I replied.

"Alright, Sweet heart. Have a great first day. Your cousin left early, so he might be there already." She yelled to me as I was walking out the front door.

I'd gotten to school in about 15 minutes. Early enough for me to grab my schedule and find my classes.

"Name?" The lady at the desk asked me.

"Jessany King."

"Alright. Give me just a second."

I'd decided that I was going to look around while I was waiting.

This school seems to be really proud of all of the different sports that they offer because there is all kinds of photos in this office.

"Alright. Here you go Miss King." She'd said.

"Thank you" I walked out the door after thanking her.

I'd walked down the hallway for probably about ten minutes looking extremely lost, because I obviously was lost, when I ran into something.

Only to realize that some "thing" was a "someone".

I'd looked up slowly, very scared, and this giant just stared at me. He was the tallest high schooler that I'd ever seen. His face was all beat up, too. From the looks of it he was the typical "Bad Boy" of this school.

I'd decided that it was probably best to just leave him be though, I don't really need any kind of drama in my life right now. Especially the type of drama that tends to follow those kinds of guys around.

Then I realized that I was still staring at him.

"Ya got something to say, Doll Face?" He glared at me as he said that.

"Uh... No." I replied.

I didn't even wait for an answer to my rudeness. I just walked right past him.

"Did y'all see that?" I asked my buddy's

"Yeah, dude. She totally just blew you off and walked away. That's not normal." My friend Mack said to me.

"Yeah, I know. Which means she's smart. Keeping herself away from the 'Bad Boys' Which means only one thing." I stated.

"And what's that?"

"I have to get to know her."

I'll be honest, I was really nervous and really scared just now. I didn't realize I'd been staring right at him while I was stuck deeply into my thoughts.

Finally I'd found my first class. Math. Most specifically, Geometry. I had to take this before I'd left my old school, and I'd failed it.

Imagine that.

When I walked into the room everybody was staring at me, here it goes... All over again.

"Students" the teacher had said, "This is our new student. Jessany King."

After about what felt like a lifetime of silence and staring, someone finally spoke up.

"She's the girl who ran into Jayson this morning, and then blew him off."

I swear,  I've never seen so many people look so freaked out before. So I just decided that I'd find my seat before anything else weird happened.

But then it did.

"Mr. Jayson, you don't belong in this class." The teacher said.

When I heard his name, my head shot up.

"I do now. I got my schedule switched. I think I might do better in this class instead." Jayson said as he glanced back at me.

Then I realized... There was an open seat right behind me.

This cannot be happening right now.

He wasn't even paying attention to the actual lesson. He just kept trying to talk to me, no matter how much I ignored him.

"Why won't you talk to me?" Jayson kept asking.

I'd finally decided to answer him. "Because I'm trying to actually learn something. Now if you could just be quiet, it'd be appreciated."

"Smart, rude, but yet nice at the same time. Lucky for you, that's what I like in a girl." He answered back.

"Ugh" was the only reply. I'd had in me to his retort.

I'd simply just wanted her to talk to me.

I've never had a problem with getting a girl to talk to me. I mean I'm Jayson Lee. The school's Bad Boy. Most girls have tried to get with me at least once.

"Ugh" was all of a reply I could get out of her. Maybe I could buy her lunch for her?

No! What am I thinking?

I'm the bad guy here. I need to focus on tonight's fight.

I'd watched the clock, and right before the bell rang,I got up and left.
