Jayson's P.O.V.
I'd decided that I'd skip lunch today. I needed to train... I had to be prepared for tonight's fight.
I can't lose. Not this time. Not against my biggest rival.
I know, I know, you should eat to not cause problems while working out, but I can't waste any time. I've gotta beat Gavin. Tonight.
"So, why are you so dead seat on beating Gavin tonight, man?" A random guy asked me.
"You just wouldn't understand, dude."
He dropped it after that, but I couldn't focus. I couldn't stop thinking about Jess.
Nobody has ever done what she did, which made me go crazy, because I believe that her and I could do just fine together.
Jessany's POV
Finally, lunch time. Finally away from Jayson and everybody else.
Everybody except my cousin anyways. He'd never let me sit alone, well... at least, not on my first day.
"So..." Jeremy said, "is it true?"
"Is what true?" I'd asked him.
"'That you actually ran into Jayson Lee, and then blew him off afterwards."
"Oh, him... Yeah. That's true. I don't understand why everyone's making such a big deal about it though."
"Maybe because nobody has ever done that to him before. It's just not normal."
Trying to change the subject, I'd said "You know what's really not normal? That chicken you're eating. I mean, just look at it."
The look on Jeremy's face is priceless. I'd only been messing with him, but watching him spit out his food made my joke that much better.
"You're a jerk, you know that?" Jeremy said to me.
"Yeah, I know that. You still love it though, and admit it, you've missed me."
Jeremy's P.O.V.
"Yeah, you're right, I've missed you and your rudeness." I'd said to her.
"Rude? Uh... Hello. I've learned all of my rudeness from you." She'd said back to me.
All she got back from me was a laugh, and an eye-roll, and with that, I finished my food.
Jayson's P.O.V.
Finally, I'd given up on training. I was really just wearing myself out.
I'd decided to go to the lunch room to at least see what they were having today, but then I saw her.
Only, she was sitting with Jeremy, laughing. Seeing her with him honestly just kind of upset me, because she was clearly happy and in a good mood.
I'd decided to walk up to them and confront them.
"So, what's going on here?" I'd said.
"What do you mean?" Jeremy asked.
"Like you don't freaking know. Flirting with Jessany like you don't know what's going on between us."
"First of all... Nothing's going on between y'all. Second... We're cousins ya moron."
"Moron?!" I'd yelled, "well how the hell am I supposed to know that y'all are cousins?"
Jeremy laughed, "Well maybe ask before ya assume?"
After that, Jessany got up and left, clearly disgusted.
"I'll let you in on a secret. If you really want to get to her, actually talk to her sometime. It's literally been less than a day and you're already scaring her off." Jeremy had said to me.
I'd walked away after that, but I really needed to actually think about that.
Jessany's P.O.V.
Finally, I'm home, and away from that school. I swear this is the weirdest school I've ever been to.
"Hey Sweet heart. How'd your first day go?" My mom had asked.
"Well, it wasn't exactly how I'd pictured it, but it still went pretty good." I'd answered.
"Did you make any new friends?"
"Just hung out with Jeremy most the time that I could."
and with that, I'd went to my room, hoping to escape the day that I'd had.
Until I got a text from an unknown Number.
"Hey, Doll face."
