Moonquest: An Epic Journey by Yogscast
——————————————————————
Avril crept into the cave with Tamlen, her bow already loaded with an arrow, ready to release at any given moment,"Who would've thought they were telling the truth? I mean, we've lived here all our lives and we've never noticed such a thing."

"I don't like the feeling of this place, Mahariel...", Tamlen's voice quivered with fear.

The blonde scoffed and nudged him with her shoulder,"Scared? C'mon, let's really see this place, eh?!"

The Dalish elves wandered through the ruins, searching the walls and artifacts for answers to questions about their clan that they didn't even know they had.

"You think we should tell the others about this place? Think of all the culture and the—", Avril whirled around and saw her companion missing,"Tamlen?! This isn't funny!"

"Mahariel, help!"

The bright eyed girl took off down the hallway, seeing her childhood friend trapped in strange webs spun by gigantic spiders. She quickly took them down and helped the dark haired boy out of the web,"This is so gross..."

"Yea, maybe we should head home, hm? I mean this place is crazy!", Avril laughed lightheartedly and groaned, following after Tamlen as he had ventured off to a room.

Inside was a mirror of sorts, it was larger than life and alluring to the eye. Avril yanked her friend's hand away once he tried to reached towards it,"You don't know what that thing is!"

"Don't be a scaredy cat.", he scoffed and rested his hand on the glass.

"Tamlen, no!"

Avril slowly peeled her eyes open, moaning out in pain,"What happened?"

The Keeper of the clan looked over at the spunky young elven woman as she got up from the bed,"We found you in the woods, knocked out cold."

"Where's Tamlen?!", the pointy eared girl asked with a start, looking around wildly.

"Calm down, you hardly survived. You should be happy that Duncan got to you in time..."

Avril snarled,"I don't care about this Duncan, I care about my friend!"

"Members of the clan are out looking for him right now, you needn't worry, child."

"They don't know where to look! There's a cave, and a mirror, and oh gods!"

The young girl eventually convinced the Keeper to allow her to show them the way to the cave, guiding them through to the mirror.

"He's got to be here! He has to!", the tears began to brim around her eyes,"We have to keep looking!"

Avril's body went a little limp, causing the Grey Warden, Duncan, to look over at the Keeper,"You know her fate, Keeper..."

*

Once it was clear what had to be done, the young elven woman was filled in.

"You don't have long to live, but if you become a Grey Warden then the Ritual can reverse the poison coursing through your veins..."

"B-But...T-Tamlen..."

The Keeper of the clan rested a hand on the blonde young woman's shoulder,"You can say your goodbyes at his service tonight, but afterwards I advise that you leave with Duncan."

"Yes Keeper...", she whispered softly and glanced over at the area where the funeral was being set up,"I'll go..."
