Courtney stood beside her locker staring at Archie. Something had changed and she didn't know what. She felt the innocence had been stolen from her friend but she didn't know how.

Archie was stood by his locker reading through his song lyrics when Reggie and a few of the other members of the football team came over. He quickly stuffed the sheets into his locker before they saw and shut it.

"Bro, you are ready for football. I'm not kidding dude, you got ripped. Dude, your a beast look at this arm, it's diesel!" Reggie laughed along with Archie.

"How much are you benching, like 220? 225?" Reggie questioned. "You gotta give me some tips man. Romanian deadlifts right? Taking some T? Ginseng? Maca root? Tribulus terrestris?"

Archie started walking down the hallway as Reggie followed.

"It's from working construction, Reg." Archie said as he shook his head.

"Oh, yeah, yeah, that's right. Yo Moose!" Reggie called. "Look who grew over the summer!"

"Hey!" Moose greeted as he gestured to some passing girls, for them to ring him.

"Yo, be honest with me, you work in any houses? Any private houses?" Reggie asked.

"Yeah a couple," Archie nodded.

"Did you tap some cougar ass this summer?" Reggie asked, a grin planted on his face.

Archie turned to face them but carried on walking.

"You know what, I think that's more of a fantasy from your wank bank Reggie." Archie retorted. "I'll catch you guys soon."

Courtney, who had been listening the whole conversation, walked past them as they stopped and passed Archie as his eyes followed her down the corridor.

"Holy shit!" Reggie let out a laugh. "Was that Courtney Jones?"

"She's hot." Moose chuckled. "She can call me anytime."

"Hey Arch," Reggie called out as he jogged down the hallway towards Archie.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Are you still best friends with CJ?" Reggie asked. They both looked down the hallway to see Courtney laughing with one of the other sophomores.

"Yeah why?" Archie asked, instantly regretting it.

"Can you hook me up with her?" Reggie asked. "Come on..."

"Fine," Archie sighed. "I'll see what I can do."

"Thanks bud." Reggie winked as he jogged back over to Moose.

Archie began to walk over to Courtney. She spun around a smile on her face to see him.

"Hey," Archie greeted.

"Well hello Archkins," she chuckled. "What can I do for you?"

"Well, Reggie wanted to know if I would hook him up with you." Archie explained. "I'm guessing no?"

"What do you mean no?" She laughed. "I'm more outgoing then that. Plus while your 'tapping cougar ass' I'll be tapping Reggie's fine ass."

"Seriously?" Archie chuckled.

"No," she grinned. "I may be innocent but I like to play games. And the thing is... I always win."

"I don't doubt you do, Court." He laughed. "Just be careful about who your with. The killers still on the loose."

"I think you forget I'm a serpent. I know how to fight." She chuckled, placing her hand in his chest flirtatiously. "But if you want to protect me, go ahead Archkins. I'd be more than happy to play damsel in distress."

"Your such a flirt," Archie chuckled even though his heart was racing.

"What can I say?" Courtney shrugged checking her watch. "Ooh! I gotta run. Veronica's being shown around school today and I want to be there."

"Bye CJ," Archie chuckled as the Southside sweetheart ran towards doors of the school entrance.
