"Mr..." the teacher checked her clipboard. "Jackson. You're late."
"It's the first day of school, Mrs. Bamalla. I wasn't sure where the classroom was." Percy answered.
"You're in eighth grade. You've been at this school for two years now. No excuses, and detention after school. I have a meeting today, so it'll have to be tomorrow."
Percy slumped into a seat and groaned.
