4. Helping Severus Unpack

"Hey Severus do you want help unpacking? Oxy said that she'll unpack for the both of us so I thought I'd ask you." I mean yes we can't sleep in the boy dormitories but no one said anything against visiting.

"You may help if you wish." Severus said. I gave him a huge smile.

"So what bed are you going to pick?" I asked. He pointed to the one way in the corner. I mean I don't blame him. I hope Oxy gave me the corner one.

"Good choice and look it seems the elfs already has your trunk there. Do you mind if I try some wards to keep your roommates away from doing anything from your bed?" I said the last part quietly. "Not that I don't think you could defend yourself if you needed it's just so you wouldn't have to." He seemed to think about it for awhile before nodding in agreement.

I started with the warning spell for strangers, then a nasty jinks that will leave the victim sleep deprived for three days no matter how much sleep they get for unwanted guests, a spell that will repell anyting thrown and hit the owner, a silenceing spell, a spell that will alert Oxy and myself if he has nightmares, a spell that will alert staff if anyone breaks a ward and does anything that Severus perceives as a threat, and finally a spell where if he needs anyone it will call my personal house elf, Slinky. Probably should let her know about that before bed. Severus was long done with unpacking before I finished my wards and protective charms.

"What was all that?" He asked.

"Well there was a lot but I finished the book that I got them from if you want to borrow it. I'll mark the spells I used. There are a few spells that will alert me and Oxy if something happens and you need help. but if something serious happens more then what any of us three can handle it will alert a staff member. I just wish I knew which staff member I could trust. If you need anything and aren't comfortable asking for one of us girls there is Slinky. I can only add people who have access to the Slytherin dormitories." I said. I hope he isn't upset. He gave a small smile.

"Could I maybe meet this house elf?" He asked. I gave a smile.

"Slinky!" I called. In came a small female house elf.

"Mistress called Slinky." Said the small elf.

"Yes, Slinky. This is Severus Snape. You are to help him if he needs anything. Anything at all and if you cannot do it or it's against the rules seek me. Help him in a way you think is best." I said.

"Yes, mistress. Is Master Severus in need of anything?" Slinky asked. Severus shook his head.

"Thank you Slinky, Severus is important to me he's my friend. You may go."

"Very well mistress" with a snap of her fingers Slinky was gone.

"Why?" Severus asked.

"Why what?"

"Why do all this for me?"

"Something about you drew me in. I'm not really sure. I saw something special about you when I saw you in Diagon Alley. Yes, I do know you were down in knockturn but that doesn't bother me. Having three Slytherins and three Gryffindors will ruin Potter and Black. I mean they are self centered pricks. Whenever they try something we will be ready for them. Also because you are my friend and a friend to the rest of us. You are not a git unlike most people I knew I would probably be housemates with so it works perfectly. As for Slinky well Oxy has Starry from her parents and the boys have Teeny that they share. Starry is shy so she's a one master kind of person. Though Slinky she will be at her wits end now that we are at school and isn't helping Teeny with the boys. If I askes her to help Teeny then Teeny he will get offended thinking he made a mistake or something. But if Slinky also became your elf then she's not offending anyone and you aren't the only person in The Phantoms that has a disadvantage. We all are equals, we are a team. I mean we don't have jobs yet but I know by holloween we will each have our own part. Like the boys said we adopted you, you are part of the family now perks and all. Don't be afraid to ask for anything." I was sitting on his bed now. He was as far away as possible from me.

"We don't expect you to believe any words but we hope in time you will believe us by our actions. I know the twins will be upset because they won't get to know you as well as we do." Oxy said from the door way. I smiled at her and nodded my approval.

"What do you get out of this?" He asked.

"A sixth to the phantoms. A guy who seems very intelligent. Someone who can help us in Slytherin. The boys are at a disadvantage because there is no one in the girl dorms for them. I mean I doubt they see it that way they are Gryffindors they aren't looking at what is to their advantage. But we are and only good things come from you being our friend. Also you are quiet that means you are watching everything around you to see which way will get you everything you want." Oxy said.

"Well curfew is close and I have to get Ela to ward our beds. Since we are set to be alerted to your wards in case something hapens would you like to be alerted to our wards. I think it would only be fair and beneficial girls are cruel and I have already met the other girls and they don't seem to be any diffrent. We could always use the extra help. Only if you agree." Oxy continued.

"I'm agreeable to that. If we are friends does that mean I have to stay away from Lily?" He asked. We shook our heads no quickly.

"No no no, we don't mind if you have other friends as long as they dont harm you. If they harm you none of us even the boys will stop until we get revenge. You are important Severus." I said. "Well goodnight, if you have trouble sleeping ask Slinky for something, she can also help if you need to talk about something. She's not just a servant she's also a friend." I left the room and headed back to girl dormitories.

"He's been through a lot you can't just be that distrustful unless the hand that feeds you also hurts you." Said Oxy quietly. I agree with that.

"He'll come around when he realizes when he falls we will be there helping him up and when he is on top we will be the ones holding him high." I said as i finished warding our beds that were both in the farthest corner so the girls cannot get near us.

"Good night, Ela" Oxy said as she fell asleep. I repeated before I too fell asleep.
