Marauders Era: The Phantoms

5. A Week Of Classes

A week of classes has gone by so far and now the "Marauders" as they call themselves are our primary target. Why? Some may ask because not only are they bullying Severus and trying to sabotage our school work. They are also bullying Oxy. No way in hell are any of us putting up with that crap. We are lucky that we don't run into them very often and when we do we are never alone. Well Severus and Oxy are never alone. Normally Oxy, Severus, and I walk together since we have the same classes.  Most of the time Lily is walking with us because Slytherin and Gryffindor have all the same classes together except Herbology which we have with Hufflepuff.

Walking away from Herbology to lunch we ended up running into the Marauders for the umpteenth time this week. If I didn't know better I'd say they were following us. Even though they were supposed to be coming from the other direction. Black tried tripping Severus but I managed to save him without anyone realizing it.

"Oh look the Trio of Greasy Gits can't take a joke." Black said loudly. Somehow durring a week of classes half of the Phantoms became known as the Trio Of Greasy Gits (or anything else degrading to the other two Slytherin, Trio of orphans, Trio of unwanted, you get the idea) thanks to the Marauders.

I sent a jinks out that would have every "prank" they use in the next two weeks will end up with them caught up in it or will be seen by a staff member. "At least the mary and her merry band are really strong and don't need to gang up on three Slyhterins. I mean four against three and two of them being girls is totally fair. It shows that you are cowards if you were strong you would take us on evenly matched. Severus save us from mary and her merry band." I said as I made a show of hiding behind Severus. He didn't do anything because we didn't want to lose points for Slytherin but it was more so I could watch his back as we walked away.

"Was that necessary Elaphe?" Severus asked as we sat down in the great hall for lunch.

"Very, not only can I watch your back as we walk away but then they underestimate us. As both me and Oxy are girls so they don't think it's really us fighting back. They probably think it's the other half of The Phantoms" I said with a smile that they knew meant trouble.

"What did you plan this time Ela. It better not be able to be traced back to us." Oxy said seriously.

"Well remember how the the twins let us borrow their prank book?" I asked when the both nodded I continued. "Well I might've used the spell that will have all their own "pranks" as they like to call them back fire on them. So say that if they push someone Mary and her Merry band will fall over having their books fly all over instead and the person that they pushed would not fall and no one would be able to help mary and them back up if they did they would fall again the next step they took." I said very proud of myself

"And if they do manage to succeed into harming someone a staff member would be around and feel compelled to punish them as if they were Slytherins. That was very smart of you Ela. Lets just hope no one can pin it on us." Oxy said. Severus just groaned.

"I know what will make you feel better Severus. We have double potions after lunch and I have on good authority that mary and them will end getting a zero on today's potion." I said. "We get to choose our partners today so you can work with Lily or Oxy or I." I continued eating my lunch.

"How do you know this about mary and her merry band?" Severus asked. When I didn't say anything he turned to Oxy and gave her a questioning look.

"Fred said something about it. Because mary and them never shut up and Leo and the twins have to listen to it every day as it's only the seven of them in the boys dorm." Oxy said. The boys looked over and when their eyes met mine they winked.

"They are up to something not really sure all I was told was to ward mary and them cauldrons so nothing can escape. I was already planing on warding the Phantoms cauldrons." I said as I ate the last of my lunch

"Well we better get going before Slughorn says we did something to ruin mary and thems potion." Oxy said as she dragged us towards the potion classroom. I just smiled and gave a look towards Severus. Oxy loved anything that dealt with humiliating the Marauders. They started it when they bullied us on the train. We are Slytherins it will take a lot for us to let it go.

We sat down in back. "Can I work with you Severus or are you going to work with Lily?" I asked. Oxy sat at the table in front of Severus.

"I want to work with you." He said after awhile. I just gave him a huge smile. It was the first time he let me work with him. I warded the phantoms cauldrons so nothing that isn't put in by a member of the phantoms can enter it. I also warded the Marauders cauldrons so nothing that enters the cauldron will escape.

"All set. Now we see what the boys are going to do." I said. Oxy gave me a look that said she knew what exactly they were going to do. Severus and I just rolled our eyes. Slughorn walked in and the rest of the class was seated. Fred sat with Potter and George sat with Black. Lupin and Pedigrew sat together but that was a disaster on it's own.

Once the instructions were on the board I left to go get the ingredients. Severus knew I would pick good ingredients. I came back with them and set down to preparing half them with Severus preparing the other half.  After we finished we started on the potion. Halfway through the second half of class we heard an explosion, then another, and another. Pedigrew's, Black's, and Potter's cauldron blew up. Everyone in the class was laughing. None of the Phantom members tried hide their laugh.

"Professor, Could me and my brother have a chance to remake ours?" They made it look like the Marauders were the ones to cause the accident.

"I do not see why not you both haven't messed up any other potions. It must've been an accident in seating." Slughorn said. The Slytherin part of the Phantoms knew better but we played along.
