It was late by the time I got home. The lights were out in our house, which only meant that either Justine was asleep or he wasn’t home. My arms and sides hurt from the bruises of today. I took my helmet off and gave it back to David; he needed it now that he was going home. I still don’t understand why he even bothers on having a helmet for me when I ride his motorcycle with him; I rather have my face hitting the wind, numbing my whole face. Making me feel like I could fly, like I was free.

“Do you know if Justine is home?” David asks as I give him my helmet.

“No, why?” David looks up into the house.

“I don’t like you being by yourself during the night.” I manage to look at him with a straight face. Since when does he not like me staying by myself? He’s always telling me how I have to be independent; know how to defend myself at all times.

“I’ll be alright David, didn’t you teach me how to do that?” I accuse. David glared at me. He turned off his motorcycle.

“Do you think I train you for fun? Xhy, Liam knows where each of us live! If it wasn’t for you not wanting to live with me then maybe I wouldn’t be so hard on you.” David spat, he could never forgive me for not living with him instead of Justine. I of course made an excuse about not being right to live together when we were in some kind of “Relationship” of course it makes more sense to actually live together, but I don’t think I could survive that, especially when he brings a different whore every night. I needed more respect than that. So that was the excuse I made.

“Oh yeah! So I can make breakfast for you and your whore in the morning. Wow that would be a dream wouldn’t it David?!” I crossed my arms across my chest. David climbed off his motorcycle.

“Maybe if my girlfriend would put out, I wouldn’t have to sleep with someone else!” he shouted with that stupid grin was back on his face. It didn’t hurt; I was use to him saying stuff like that.

“Screw you.” I spat as I turned to walk away.

“Good night doll.” David came behind me to pull me by my waist. He had apparently forgotten that my sides were bruise from that day.

“Ow!” I cried out in pain. I pushed his hands away making him unbalance for a second.

“Does it hurt?” for a second he sounded concerned

“A bit.”

David came closer now, almost standing on my feet. He leaned in next to my ear.

“Good.” He whispered. I only glared. David got back in his motorcycle. “Suck it up princess, you’ll get over them tomorrow, bruises always heal.”

I mentally slapped my face, of course he didn’t care. He hasn’t cared for the last 2 years.

“I need a drink now.” And with that he turned on his motorcycle and left.

I silently opened my door with my keys. The house was super quiet for Justine to be home. I walked upstairs and stopped by his door, I gave it a small knock.

“Justine?” I whisper into the dark. No response; I slowly walked inside.

“Justine?” I whispered again. I walked deeper into his room where I see him lying on his bed.

“Hey biscuit! “ He whispers back as he pats the mattress. I climb in the bed with him; lying next to him.

“Why didn’t you answer?” I continue to whisper as I stare up into his ceiling. I feel Justine do the same.
