"Peridot Jewelle." Peridot shot her hand up when she heard her name being called, letting out a small mew. "Coral Lazuli." Peridot put her hand back down. A few rows behind her, another girl rose her hand.

"Actually, ma'am, I go by my middle name, Lapis," the girl corrected. The woman calling out the names nodded.

"Padparadscha Sapphire." It  took a minute for a small, tan hand to raise. "Flower Rite." A normal sized hand rose. "Morgan Itel." A reddish hand rose. "Jasper Frettle." A large hand rose. "Cherri Jewelle." A tiny hand rose in the very back.

"Here," the small voice belonging to the person with the tiny hand spoke.

"Good. Everyone is here. My name is Ms. Diamonde and I will be your homeroom teacher. You shall report back to me at the end of the day and I will dismiss you to your dorms, got it?" the teacher spoke. The class nodded. "Great! This will be a wonderful year for you students, although my sister, your calculus teacher, might be a bit harsh," Ms. Diamonde whispered the last part. A few giggles were shared by the students. "Now, what we will be doing today is what any normal school does on their first day: introductions! All you have to do is say your name and something you like to do. Who would like to go first?" Only one person raised their hand. "Alright, looks like we only have one volunteer! Come on up!"

A girl with reddish skin walked up to the front of the classroom.

"My name is Morgan Itel and I like talking," the girl said, a bit of snootiness in her voice.  Ms. Diamonde smiled.

"Very  good, Morgan! Now, would anybody like to volunteer to go next?" Nobody rose their hand. "Well, I'll just go in order of last names then. And the first person is... Ms. Jasper! Come up here and tell the class a bit about yourself!" A grunt could be heard as a buff girl with tanned, almost orange skin and blonde hair walked up to the front of the classroom.

"I'm Jasper Frettle. I like throwing," the girl said in a gruff voice. She immediately sat back down.

"Next up is... Cherri Jewelle!" Shuffling could be heard from the back of the classroom as a short girl made her way up to the front.

"W- well... My name is Cherri Jewelle and... and I like talking to my sister," Cherri spoke quietly. Ms. Diamonde smiled.

"Next is Peridot Jewelle!" Peridot's ears perked up. She stood from her seat slowly and went to the front of the room.

"Well.. My name is Peridot Jewelle and I like gaming," Peridot muttered, then went back to her seat.

"Hey, kitty! Why don't you bring me a mouse? I'm starving," Morgan snickered. Peridot's ears flattened out of embarrassment.

"Now, Morgan, this classroom is not a place for teasing," Ms. Diamonde stated. Morgan just rolled her eyes. "Next is Lapis!" A girl with blue dyed hair walked up to the front of the classroom.

"My name is Lapis Lazuli and I like flying." She raised one of her wings for a few seconds then sat back down.

In about five minutes everybody else had finished. Now it was time to head to dorms. Peridot looked for her dorm, quietly repeating the number 24 in her head. Once she found it, she smirked and opened the door. She looked around to see two beds; one on each side of the room. One of the beds had stuff scattered around all over it. The other bed was empty besides the basic things for a bed.

Peridot had dropped her stuff off in her dorm earlier but hadn't had time to unpack. Her bag was right next to her bed, and had stuff like clothes and a computer in it. She quietly pulled the laptop out of her bag and went to YouTube. She started watching Jacksepticeye play Cuphead. It was hilarious.

"Yeah yeah, fuck you too Garnet," a voice laughed. Peridot looked up from her computer. She hadn't even heard the door open. "Sup," the girl said, "I'm Amethyst." Peridot looked at Amethyst. She had tan skin with long, shabby lavender hair, and her eyes were a deep blue. She was awfully short, about the same height as Peridot, and she had a curvy body.

"Hi. I'm Peridot," Peridot spoke, then looked back to her computer.

"What's with the ears? You a weeaboo or something?" Amethyst asked. Peridot lowered her ears.

"I don't know. I just got them." Amethyst rolled her eyes and plopped herself down on her bed.

"So what're you in for? Parents not wanting to deal with you? Not wanting to join the army?" Peridot glared at Amethyst.

"I actually want to get an education and a good job," Peridot shot back. Amethyst huffed.

"Well then. I can work with this..." Amethyst muttered. Peridot groaned.
