Jax's POV

I checked my phone and there were about 23 calls from Bryan ,is he dying or what?

I called him back and he picked it up almost immediately as if he was already waiting for my call.

"Yo Jax ,you know how much you mean to me right?"

"What do you want now?", I asked.

"Me? Oh no nothing, how can you even say that? You truly hurt my feelings"

I rolled my eyes at his drama queen antics.

"Come on, cut the chase,what is it?"

"You're no fun, just come and pick me up, I don't have a ride" he said with a sigh.

I got ready and went to pick up Bryan.
It has been about ten minutes that I'm honking outside his house and he isn't coming out.

"ALRIGHT I'M COMING!!",i heard him scream from inside.

After five mins he came out. As he was about to open the car door,i moved the car a little bit.

He catched up to the car and finally sat in and gave me a glare.

"What the hell was taking you so long?"

"You know it takes time to look this good"he said while flipping his imaginary hair.

"Okay cut the bullshit now, tell me did you find out?"

"Yeah yeah about that,there will be one tonight, Owen said he'll text me the location",he replied.

"Alright, tell me as soon as you get it"

We pull up to school at time same time as Connor.

He got off his bike and came to us.

"You'll go tonight?",he asked.

"Yeah you know i never miss any of these"

"Well guys I'd love to chat, but the bell just rang so byee,miss me lots",Bryan said as he ran off.

Connor and I also went on our way.

Mae's POV

I was sitting in Maths class flipping through the pages of Maths book when Bryan bursted through the door and almost fell over.

He saw me,gave a goofy smile and sat next to me.

"Hi milady,how are you this fine morning?",he asked.

"I'm good", i said with a laugh.

"Aren't you going to ask me how i am?"he said feigning fake sadness.

"Okay Bryan,how are you?"

"I'm not very good you know,Jax was being a meanie to me this morning", he said while pouting.

I chuckled at his childlike behavior. I find myself to be actually happy with these guys, i just hope it stays this way for a long time. What if they found out about my stepfather? No, I can't let that happen. I'll hide it the best i can like i always have. That's better for me and for them. I didn't realize i had zoned out.

I came back to my senses by Bryan snapping his finger in front of my face.

"Class has started,dollface", he said.

It was a long and boring class which didn't seem to end. As soon as the bell rang Bryan jumped out of his seat and exclaimed:

"Finally its over"

"Mr Ross i would very much appreciate it ,if you sat down the bell doesn't dismiss you ,i do", the teacher told Bryan firmly.

He sat down and mimicked the teacher in a quiet and weird sound. I patted his back in reassurance and tried my best not to laugh.

After about five mins the teacher let us go.

As soon as we got out of the class we bumped into Connor and Jax.

"Guys you won't believe me what happened in class, the evil sorceresses
locked us up", Bryan exclaimed.

"What's he going on about?", Connor said with a roll of his eyes.

"He's talking about the teacher", i said amusedly.

I felt someone's eyes on me, i looked towards Jax and found him staring,making heat rise up to my cheeks. I got kind of shy and excused myself to the bathroom.

I turned on the tap and washed my face and calmed myself down.

As i was about to leave someone grabbed my arm from behind. I turned around and saw Jenny.

"Ugh i don't understand how you can even look at yourself in the mirror, i mean you're disgusting, hunny keep that in mind and stay away from Jax", she said and got out.

What she says actually hurts, i try my best not to let it get to me but it gets hard when you also hate yourself.

I feel truly happy with Jax and his friends, i am not going to let Jenny decide whom i should be friends with and whom i should avoid.

I gave myself a little pep talk and got out and went to my next class. I saw Jax sitting right next to my seat, i took my seat and brought out my books.

"You okay? You seem a bit off.",he asked.

"Yeah um I-I'm good", i said with a small smile and he nodded with a slight frown.

I don't think he bought it.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur. It was time to go back home.

I walking down the street when i heard someone call my name.

"Mae ,come on I'll drop you",i heard Jax say.

"No its okay, I'll just walk"

"Come on Mae I'm not gonna kidnap you",he replied.

"Umm okay"

I got into his car, it smelled of him. I liked that. I shouldn't but i did. He leaned over making me shrink back into the seat.

While keeping eye contact, he secured my seat belt. His face was so close to mine, our breaths mingled with each other's.

The rest of the car ride was uneventful, we mostly kept quiet and only talked about school or music.

We reached home, he said goodbye and didn't leave until i got inside. I waved to him while entering through the door and then he was gone.
