"What? What do you mean they're gone?" I rush past her and run to my parents room. They're gone. 'Where they abducted?' I fly down the stairs with Thea close behind. I'm in shock of the living room's state. The glass table and windows are broken. As I'm looking down at the broken glass, I notice a wet, slimy substance. 'What the fuck is this?' There's a trail leading to the kitchen. I gesture to her and say "Come on, Thea." as I follow the slime. It takes me through the kitchen and to the backdoor which is already wide open.

"Did you see anything?" I ask.
"I heard them come in. I thought it was a burglar so I hid under my bed. They came in my room and left. I waited a little to make sure they were gone. Sarah was missing when I got up."
"What about mom and dad?"
"I checked their room and they were gone. I thought you were gone too, then I found you in Bellamy's room."

This is very strange. I run back upstairs to grab my cellphone. I call mom, dad, then Bellamy. Each of their phones rang out then went to voicemail.

"What are we gonna do?"
"I don't know, Thea, but we can't stay here. What if they come back?"
"Where are we going?"
"Thea I don't know! Just go pack please."

She sighs and makes her way upstairs. I look around at the disaster that is my home. 'Where are we gonna stay? Think, Kaitlyn, think'. I'm scrolling through the contacts on my phone to see who I can call next for help. "Aunt Rachel!" I run up the stairs and into my room. For a second I forgot it was ruined. I quickly try to find bags to put my clothes in. After about fifteen minutes, I'm done. I call for Thea to see if she's finished.

"I'm done Kait, but where are we going?"
"We could go to Aunt Rachel's house."
"No we can't, she's on a business trip in New York."

'Shit, what are we gonna do now?'

"What about Grandma?" Thea asks.
"Good thinking, I'll call her."

She picks up after about the fifth ring
"Hello?"
"Grandma! We need your help!"
"Thea? What's the matter with you, child?"
"It's Kaitlyn, and I'll explain everything to you but you have to come get us now!"
"Child it's the middle of the night."
"Please Grandma it's an emergency!"
"Alright, alright, I'm coming."
"Thank you, Grandma."
