Along the crowded beach, Lula and Circe searched for a nice spot. "Follow me!" Lula called to Circe, who was holding the umbrella, her book, and chairs. Lula skipped ahead, saddled with only the beach bag. After another minute of searching, the two girls found a nice spot, and Circe promptly set up the area. When the umbrella was opened and the chairs set down, Circe sat, ready to read. "What are you doing?!" Lula asked cheerfully, latching onto Circe's arm. "Reading..." Circe murmured as she tried to dislodge Lulanna's arm. "No, you're not!" Lula said, immediately taking on the façade of a army commander. Circe dismissed her girlfriend's act and tried to continue reading, only for Lula to steal her book. "Pleeeaaase?" Lula asked, using her infallible puppy-dog eyes. Circe sighed and stood up, prompting a small cheer from Lula.
Hand in hand, the two ran to the seaside, splashing amongst the waves. What started as a playful slash turned into an all-out war between the two girls, until Lula surrendered. "See, now you're getting in the spirit of things!" She grinned, reaching up to pat Circe on the head. Circe smiled at her short girlfriend and swam to the short, drying off and picking up her book. "Oh, come on!" Lulanna yelled. Circe grinned as she read of the adventures of a boy and a sun god, but soon cheers and shouts possessed her attention, and she looked up. A girl was surfing in the waves, eliciting cheers from the crowd that had gathered at the shore. Curious, Circe walked up to see Lulanna on the board, and soon started cheering as fervently as the rest of the audience. After Lulanna swam in, she was congratulated by numerous beach-goers, and courteously thanked them, but steadily made her way to her awestruck girlfriend.
"Why did you never tell me you could surf?" Circe sputtered, staring at her girlfriend in awe. Lula shrugged. "I picked it up a few years ago, no big deal." "Tha-why should I be surprised, you're the definition of perfect." "Yeah right!" Lula laughed. "It's true." Circe smirked, "If you look up perfection in the dictionary, you'll see your face." "Aw, you're so sappy." Lulanna teased. "Perhaps." Circe nodded. "Do you want to get some ice-cream?" "Duh I want some ice-cream!" Lulanna yelled, loudly enough to draw the attention of some nearby vacationers. The two packed their things back in the car, then set forth for some ice-cream.
"Raspberry or chocolate? Oh, but there's also s'mores?!" Lulanna pondered, peering at the many flavors. Circe turned to the employee at the counter and quickly ordered some strawberry sorbet. After a moment of deliberation, Lula decided on the mint chip. The two walked out of the store together, silently eating their treats. "Hey Circe?" Lula asked, throwing the remains of her ice-cream in the trash. "Yes Lula?" "Do you want to walk by the beach?" "And you said I was sappy." Circe rolled her eyes before continuing. "Yeah, let's do it!"
As the sun set, Circe and Lula strode along the ocean, occasionally dipping their toes in the cool water. Occasionally Lula would point out a cloud, or Circe would pick up a shell, but for the most part they walked in companionable silence. As they started to turn back, Circe pulled Lulanna close to her, and Lula, with a smile, quickly kissed Circe. They walked back to the car, Circe blushing most of the way.
Lulanna, upon entering the car and sitting down, almost immediately fell asleep, leaving Circe to drive. Circe smiled at her adorable girlfriend, and turned the radio to Beethoven. When the two arrived at Lula's house, Circe shook her awake. "Oh..." Lula yawned. "Home already?" "Yeah, you slept the whole way." Circe told her affectionately. As Lula stumbled blearily, Circe guided the sleepy girl to the front door. Once at the door, Lula gave Circe a sleepy goodnight kiss, gently molding their lips together. When Circe eventually drew back, Lula unlocked the door and stepped in, uttering a whispered goodbye to Circe. Circe walked back into the car, and as she drove, she recalled all the events that happened that perfect day.
