"Just stop Jordan, you know I love you but don't embarrass yourself with those jokes please" Eli pleaded for the nth time, with that Charity grunted in agreement. It was weird because Eli and I always tell we love each other but only this time I blushed.

"Okay, this would be the last, please" I said thinking of the best one I have, maybe they'd at least take back what they've been saying about my jokes. "What do you call -"

"A house!" Charity screamed in my ear, cutting me off.

"How the hell would you know what I'd joke about next?" I asked, weirdly enough my joke was about a house.

"No! A house Jordan, a house" Elliot said grabbing my shoulder and spun me in the direction of the house. "Oh now I get it" I said softly.

"What are you waiting for?" Charity asks us running towards the house.

"B-but my joke guys?" I said annoyed. Eli only looked at me with an amused face " Not now Jordan,  this is not the time to crack some crappy jokes" he said. I eyed him carefully as we ran, and when we stopped in front of the door he just smiled at me.

While debating whether who was going to knock, Charity's excuse was that she's afraid it would be a murderer while my excuse was simple: I want to disagree with all of Charity's choices and judgements. I don't even know why but in the end, we agreed that she'll do the knocking and I'll do the talking.

Eli had a different idea in mind "Guys I think it's better not to knock". But it was too late, the door was now open and before I could ask Eli why, the little girl scream at the top of her lungs "Mommy! Mommy! There's a man stealing our bananas" the little girl had her eyes behind us.

I followed the trail of the girl's eyes and found Eli that had just climbed down the tree. The little girl kept screaming, her mother was on her way to the door. Charity and Eli started to run while the mother found her way back to her house probably getting some weapons to kill us. I was too shocked to run, the mother was now back with some plates and started to throw it at us, Eli came back for me and held my hand and we started to run as fast as we could and as far as we can.

After 30 minutes, well for me it was 20 minutes of running and 10 minutes of falling down, tripping, and hugging the ground; thank God Eli was holding my hand, we finally stopped in a forest where we were out of sight. "Way to go jerk, that was our only chance to go home" Charity said.

"We could've used their phone or even a lift to the city" I said totally pissed off by Eli and that stupid banana.

"But the bananas were like calling my name. Chanting 'Elliot' over and over again" he defended, he was still holding my hand.

He slowly let go of my hand and sat down with Charity, eating bananas.  I realize that I was still standing up taking in what just happened, I sat down joining them and ate some bananas.

I think I felt somethimg to Eli, but we're only best friends, maybe I am just over thinking. I dont know what that something is, but I clearly know its one-sided.

"I am going to find woods and try to make a fire or something because its getting darker" Eli said.

"Oooh now his using his scouting skills" I said with my mouth full of bananas.

"They don't call me a boyscout leader for no reason" he said. I know he's embarrassed but still he managed a smug look before disappearing to the woods.

Charity and I were still laughing. "Remember when he came back from camping and he's got bee sting all over his face?" Charity said between laughter.

I laughed more at the memory "And that time where we got lost in the park's forest and he used those stick and stone signals to get us out but we ended up more lost"

"And that day when he failed to prove to us that he can make fire using woods"

As our laughter died down, we were now smiling like idiots staring to wherever. Now that I was wondering "Wasn't it on the 6th grade when Eli was a boyscout? Wasn't it after you left us?" I said quietly.

"No, actually it was on the 5th grade. And I didnt leave you both, I just . . ." she also said in a quiet tone and as if thinking she's for a better reason.

"You just what? Befriended that bitch Brittany Summers? Who, I may remind you, called us a freak?" I said my voice raising. I know we owe her time to explain herself,  but it has been 5 years since she ditched us for fame. Brittany transferred to another highschool and thats how Charity became the queen bee.

"It wasn't about both of you, I promise. It's because of me" She said and I didnt get that.

We dropped off that topic as Eli came back without woods in his hands, he must've notice the tensiom that builded up in our silence "I got lost and sort of freaked out. Let's just get back and go out of here, we wouldn't want to get caught up in the dark in here" he said, I noticed he was nervouse with our silence because he knew one reason behind it.

Just like before we continued our journey and followed the path of the road, except now we travel in the dark and in total silence.
