Approaching her living room with drinks in hands, Taylor heard conversations and a lot of laughing coming from her friends. Trying to be patient to not drop anything on the carpet, Taylor gave a bottle of beer to each one of the first three people in the room, and left one on the coffee table in front of her, ignoring while the ginger figure reached out to catch it.

“So how does this game works again?” She asked Scott, who was already drinking up half of his bottle.

“Someone says a thing, and if you did, still do, or are the thing I said, you have take a sip” He lifted his bottle in the air, his left brow raised. “It’s like a “Have You Ever” type of game.”

“And who wins?”

“Everybody wins” He said.

“What? I thought we were going to play a real game here” Claire said, indignantly.

“This is a real game” Scott said.

“With no purporse” Claire replied.

“The purpose is to everybody get drunk” Ed intruded. Taylor raised an eyebrow.

“Then were not playing it” Taylor teased. She wasn’t actually scared of playing it. This wasn’t a Q&A game; This was just a safe way to give someone a hint. And she kinda needed it.

“We are” Ed said. He looked at Taylor and then looked back to his phone, leaving his order in the air. Ed’s tone reminded Taylor again of the dark mood between them.

“Shut the fuck up. I’m not playing something I can’t win” Claire said and Taylor held up a smile.

“I’m not playing it, either” Taylor said in a commanding tone just like Ed’s. At this point she was almost really giving up playing the game, his aggressiveness getting under her skin.

Ed didn’t even look at her, still staring his phone.”Oh, c’mon girls” Charity said. “This sounds fun.”

“It’s not going to be fun if some of you barely talk to each other” Scott said. Taylor looked around and realized that everyone was looking at Ed then at her, a silence followed.

Ed raised his head, confused by the odd silence in the room.”What?” Then he realized what was going on.”It was her fault!” He exclaimed, pointing at Taylor.

My fault? You said I was acting like a child and freaking broke my phone!” Taylor protested.

“The broken phone was your fault. You pushed me while holding it” He said, shaking his head. Then he got up, walking towards Taylor. “And I said you were acting like a child because you were.”

“Oh. I’m childish just because I left a party?” Taylor asked, ironically.

“You left like, five minutes after you arrived. Because of him” Ed said, angry.

“And?”

“And that’s childish.”

“Let’s be honest here, Ed. I know the real reason why you’re angry at me. You don’t know what to do.” Taylor said, knowing that the sentence wouldn’t make any sense for anyone but them. He looked at her, blushing furiously.

“You’re the one that doesn’t know what to do.” He finally replied. Taylor almost choked.

“Okay, guys, let’s calm down.” Taylor only realized how much they were close to each other when Scott pushed Ed’s body away from hers.

“Tell him that. I’m completely calm” Taylor said, crossing her arms. Ed just shook his head again, feeling outraged.

“How about we play the game? Or we can leave so you guys can fight alone” Charity said in a serious tone.

“No! No, don’t leave” Taylor said, too fast. The last thing she wanted was to be alone with him. To talk about the song. “If you wanna play it, let’s play.”

Scott and Charity celebrated while Claire rolled her eyes. Ed still stood in the same spot, in silence. Then, Scott forced everyone to form a circle on the floor, putting Ed right in front of Taylor, who was sitting in the middle of Claire and Charity. Taylor looked everywhere but at him, avoiding his blue eyes at all costs.

“Okay, okay, I’ll start” Scott said, excited. “You truly like every person in this room.”

Claire and Charity were the first ones to drink, followed by Taylor, then Scott. Ed was the last, avoiding everyone’s stare when he took so long to drink.

Taylor knew he was lying, Ed had told her he didn’t really like Scott’s attitudes. But she didn’t say a word about it, still avoiding his eyes.

“Okay, everyone loves everyone. Now the real questions” Claire said, and Scott laughed. “Your turn, Ed.”

Ed finally put his phone away, and seemed to think for a while, before saying, bravely; “You wrote a song about someone in this room” Taylor held her breath, her heart beating faster than ever. Everyone looked at her, but she didn’t know what to say. Then, she looked at the bottle in her hands, and quickly brought it to her mouth, drinking it. He was playing with her, and she wouldn’t back up. Ed didn’t seem surprised while also taking a sip. Taylor raised an eyebrow, finally staring at his eyes.

“Well, That was something” Charity laughed.

“Your turn, Claire” Ed mumbled, avoiding Taylor’s stare.

“I’m starting to like this game” She said. “You ever felt physically attracted to someone in this room” This is just getting worst, Taylor thought while drinking timidly. Claire, Ed and Scott also drunk from their bottles, while Charity laughed.

“We should stop. This game could destroy our friendships” Taylor almost whispered.

“Now that I’m actually liking it?” Claired protested. “C’mon, Taylor. No one is getting offended or anything, right, guys?” Everyone nodded. Taylor squint her eyes.

“No need for that much drama, Tay Sway” Ed said, in an ironic tone.

“Shut up” Taylor said. Ed threw up his hands, pretending to be offended. Taylor just shook her head. “Okay, then. But I don’t wanna hear any complaints afterwards.”

Claire laughed at how worried her friend could be, even almost drunk, like Taylor was.

“Your turn, Tay Sway” Scott said, stealing Ed’s nickname for her. Ed didn’t seem very happy about it, and Taylor bit her cheek to keep her from smiling.

Taylor thought for a while, then found the perfect thing to say: “You ever felt jealously towards someone in this room.”

No one drank from their bottles.

“C’mon, Ed. Drink it up” Taylor teased some seconds later.

“What?”

“Drink” She repeated.

“Excuse me?”

“Uhm, What is that thing we feel when we don’t want someone to leave a party ‘cause of another person that this person had been involved with in the past, to prove they’re over them? Oh, yeah. Jealousy.”

Taylor could see in Ed’s eyes how much that affected him, but he seemed to recover in a split second, saying: “What is that thing when we don’t get over someone we broke up with ages ago? Oh yeah. Stupidity.

“So is this about me now? You didn’t deny it. Drink.

“I’m not going to.”

“Then I’m not playing anymore” She said, indifferent, quickly getting up from the floor. “You guys can go on. I’m upstairs.”
