"Hi Marcus!!" She screeched as the sound of her 6 inch heels clattered against the tiling of the ice cream shoppe. Why? Why is it necessary to wear heels everywhere you go?
"Hey Michelle." Marcus replies in a flat tone while rolling his eyes. I try to hold in my laughter as Michelle squishes her self in side the booth, meant for one person, with Marcus.
"So Marky, Whatchya doing?"
"We kind of were sitting here trying to enjoy our date." I answer before Marcus gets the chance. His eyes switch back and forth between us like he was about to witness some sort of medieval brawl. I wink at him letting him know everything is all good.
"And you are?" she asks as she acknowledges my existence for the first time.
"I'm Rebecca. 'Marky's' girlfriend."
"Oooh. So you two were like on a date.....Together."
"No, we've been shoveling dirt for the past two hours, In two separate places." Marcus couldn't contain himself anymore and busted out laughing. Michelle looked like she had died and been buried already.
"Well I see I'm not welcomed here, but I actually came to you, Marky, to invite you to my 17th birthday party next week." She fluttered here long fake eyelashes and rubbed up and down his forearm. And all I wanted to do was punch her face into a wall. But do I even have the right to be jealous?
"I'll only come if Bex can come." He gave me a small smile, when he said my name, which I returned.
"Uuggh fine, but," she flicked her eyes over to me, " dress nicer." I raised my eyebrow as if to say was that suppose to mean, but instead of replying she spun around, got out of the booth, and clicked her way out of the shop. Marcus turned towards me with wide eyes and a gigantic smile.
"Jesus Christ, you're amazing!" Teehee, He thinks I'm amazing.
"What?"
"You just pulled those heels right from up under her, with the grace of a butterfly and the force of a defensive tackle. Like just wow! I am very impressed."
"Well thank you, but I think we should go."
"Uh.. yeah ... ok. But there is one more place I would like to take you, If that's ok with you?"
"Sure." He hops out of the booth and extends his hand out for me take. We walk out of the ice cream shoppe hand in hand.
