P.O.V of Robin.
I had been given the rifle this time, the idea was to get the teams attention on the rooftop whilst Deathstroke was in the meeting, I would shoot. KF would do the same as yesterday and when they saw Deathstroke in the crowd, who would have drawn his gun to shot her after my shot went wild, they would jump down to stop him and he could shoot her in the chaos. That was the plan anyway, how well it would work was soon to be figured out. I set up the rifle as Deathstroke did yesterday, and stared down the sights towards Hanna as she stepped into the circle of pebbles. All the villains were dressed as ordinary people so the team probably wouldn't recognize them, but that didn't matter. I moved the gun slightly off target in case KF didn't do what he was meant to. Then I pulled the trigger. As expected KF came running and moved the aim, causing me to hit far out to the wall. I stood up and faced him, my full face mask covering any identity, though they would be looking to remove that though so I could figure out my identity. That sounded weird in my head, no matter aloud.
"He's down there." Aqualad shouted as Deathstroke removed his gun from his back.
The team jumped down to stop him as expected and the villains all went mad. Most ran to try and protect but Hanna didn't get further then two steps when Deathstroke shot her down. I let out a sigh of relief then jumped down to help Deathstroke. I ended up facing off against Artemis and Aqualad at the same time. I unsheathed my Katana's and they came at me. Aqualad's water katana's came down to be blocked by mine and it continued like that until the team retreated seeing that they had failed. Now I just had to find a way to stop them reporting back to Batman, unless I wanted such a hard beating I probably wouldn't walk again. I shivered at the thought. Deathstroke and I walked back to the apartment in silence. I changed into my civvies, said goodbye and headed back to the cave where the team where expecting me. I had just settled down on the sofa and turned on the news when they came in.
"How'd it go?" I asked.
"Just be thankful you're not giving Batman the mission report." KF grumbled.
"Is she..?" I didn't finish the sentence.
"She was killed by Slade in the confusion." Aqualad said, "He had his apprentice there again. I think that was his first mission and he failed to do it himself."
"Poor kid's probably going to be beat to death, when I went in his mind I saw the fear of his mentor in there." Megan said, "I don't know if he'll survive with that fear in him."
She had seen my fear of Batman. At least she didn't know that he was the mentor I was scared of, thank god for the small mercies.
"So" I said, "Any plans for tonight?"
"Robin, report to my room immediately." Batman's voice came through the speakers.
I gulped, "Gotta go." And ran to his room.
As soon as I closed the door behind me I felt a slap across my cheek as I went flying into wardrobe.
"What were you thinking sending the team on an unauthorized mission?" He growled.
"You weren't here a-and I thought the if they had a-another c-chance they c-could bring t-the boy in for y-you." I stuttered.
"Well don't." Batman said as he punched me then grabbed my face to make me look him in the eye, "If I ever here of you trying to take charge again I will personally be the reason your legs go permanently out of use, understood?"
"U-u-understood S-sir." I replied.
"And stop that infernal stuttering unless you want to go foodless for an extra week." He said.
I just nodded, not trusting myself not to stutter.
"Now clean up this mess and explain to the team what you did." Batman said as he stormed out of the room, not bothering to avoid stepping on my hand which I heard crunch.I collected the broken shards of furniture from the floor, swept them into the room and began to mop up the blood I had spilled from reopening my old wounds which he gave to me a couple of nights ago. I'd have to restich them.P.O.V of Superboy.
I wasn't fond of Robin but when he left his heartbeat sped up and he started to sweat, Megan even said he was rolling off fear. So we all followed him to Batman's room where the door instantly closed and I heard a crash. I couldn't hear any of the words exchanged but when we heard Batman coming back to the door we hid.
"Stupid brat." He muttered as he rubbed his fist and left.
We gave each other a look and entered his room. As soon as he heard the door open he turned from where he was on the floor and looked up with wide eyes, which relaxed when he saw us.
"Dude, are you okay?" Wally asked as he went over.
"Yeah, just a game we play." Robin answered, "It's called whoever loses the surprise attack clears up the mess of the surprise attack."
"That sounds like fun." Megan said and I had to agree, unless you lost of course.
"That's not a game." Artemis stated.
"It is." Robin defended, "Anyway, whilst your here I have something I need to tell you."
"Don't tell me, you painted Artemis' room pink again." I said, last time that happened was not pleasant for any of us.
"No, it's about the mission you just came back from." He said and we all looked at him in confusion, "It wasn't authorized, I lied when I said Batman said you had to go. Whilst you were on the mission I found that they had another one the day after, and after you failed I thought if you went again you could succeeded and impress Batman. I'm sorry."
We all looked at him in disbelief.
"Anyway," He continued, "If you could leave before Batman gets back and spots you-"
"Too late." We heard from behind us and turned to see Batman, even I hadn't heard him approach, "Get out now."
We all left, but he held back Robin. Something wasn't quite right here.
