logan comforting you when you're crying

---

you felt yourself begin to cry; it always felt like people who got close to you would get hurt. logan - though he would never admit it - loved you with everything he had, and always vowed to protect you, but you kept pushing him away until you barely ever saw him every day. you loved logan, more than anything in this world but you couldn't bare the thought of him getting hurt.

your powers were dangerous, you've already hurt people more times than you can count, mostly on accident. since you came to this school, they've become stronger but you've learned to keep them more under wraps due to scott's training. which is why you wore the gloves, to prevent anything from happening. if you were being honest, you didn't know the full extent of your own powers, so you shut not only logan, but everyone out. you never went to class, locked yourself in your room as the beast in your belly grew stronger and stronger every day with no way of controlling it.

pulling you away from your miserable daydreaming, you heard a knocking at your bedroom door. funny, you thought everyone would be asleep by now. wiping your tear stained cheeks, you brought yourself to your door, hastily opening it and hoping it was a ding-dong ditch. you gasped when you saw him - logan - leaning against the doorframe, his head seemed to be nodding off to the side as if he was exhaustion. his eyes were red-rimmed and bloodshot, cheeks flushed and hair sticking up in all kinds of directions. "(y/n)." he plead, he seemed desperate, his face changed. the harder, tough guy logan you usually saw was gone and instead he looked sincere, desperate, tired.

"lo-logan..." you nervously said, suddenly feeling the beast in your stomach begin to growl, making you withdraw yourself from the door. "i can't... i don't want to see you..." you lied; you missed him so much, missed his touch and his laugh - though the occasion was rare.

"bullshit." he said, barging himself into your room and closing the door behind me. "look, i know you think you're dangerous and i know you think the way to protect everyone is by shutting them out. well guess what? you're just hurting them more. we miss you (y/n). i miss you..." he emphasized, closing his eyes and exhaling a deep sigh, reaching for your hands but you quickly pulled away.

"this is the only way, logan. i'm sorry." there was a short pause in your breathing before you turned away from him, unable to bear the sight. "i think you should leave."

"no." he shook his head in disbelief, walking up further to you until you were nearly chest to chest. "no, i'm not going anywhere. i'm not leaving this room until i figure out a way to help you. believe it or not i actually care about you. i care about you more than i've cared about anyone else and it physically pains me to go through my life without you." he knelt down in front of you, he had to look up to face you. "please, i've never begged for anything in my life but i'm begging you now... let me in... let me in and i can help you..." he pressed his forehead against your stomach, holding onto your hips and he found himself crying into your shirt.

"logan..." you whispered, crying yourself from the speech he gave you. "logan get up." your voice broke, pulling him by his shoulders up so you were the one looking up at him. "this is so unlike you, really." you tried to make light, sitting down on the bed with logan following behind. "what happened?"

"you." he said simply, quirking a tiny smile. you reached across and wiped away his tear with your thumbs, finding yourself keeping your hands on his face. finally, you broke down, sobbing fully. it took him by surprise, but he quickly put an arm around you and pulled you close to his chest, kissing the top of your head. "come here..." he whispered against your hair, pulling you closer to his chest, your tears staining his leather jacket. "i've got you... i've got you..." you'd never seen logan this sincere, you never thought he'd have it in him... he was like a different person in front of you. his other hand rested on your other shoulder, pulling you in for a sort of hug - you could tell he hadn't spent as much time on hugging. you giggled gently, sniffling and pulling yourself away from him, wiping your tears away and sighing.

"god, i'm sorry."

"hey, hey... don't be. i'm always here for you when you need me." he gave you a gentle smile, wiping away the rest of your tears with his thumbs, kissing your forehead, still keeping your faces inches apart. bringing your hand up to caress his cheek, you pulled him in for a kiss. he quickly responded, forming his lips to mold against yours, his hand going to the back of your head and resting in your hair. your head was fuzzy, your knees felt weak and you felt your power go to your entire body, creating a warmth that you couldn't describe. for once you felt as if you were in control.

he pulled away, catching his breath; he found one hand resting on your thigh, the other in your hair and smirked, pressing your foreheads together. "thank you." you whispered, wrapping your arms around his neck and drawing him in for another kiss. he smiled, moving his hand up slowly to grasp onto your hip, pulling you closer to him. without thinking, you shifted onto his lap, causing his eyes to widen and his grip to tighten on your hip, assuring you don't fall over. you didn't know what came over you, maybe it was the beast, but you pushed off his leather jacket and curled your fingers in his hair.

"(y/n)..." his voice snapped you out of your haze, causing you to pull away and realize the position you were in.

"s-s-sorry..." you quickly said, pulling yourself off of him and sitting back down on the bed, looking away awkwardly. how could you be so stupid? you felt something against your hand and looked down, seeing it was logans hand interlocking itself with yours. "will you stay?"

"of course." he nodded, lifting the covers up as you lied down under them. logan followed behind you and carefully put his arm over your stomach, holding you close to his chest. you could feel the energy radiating off him, you felt love and affection. you bit your lip gently, finally enjoying the feeling of touching someone and them not being terrified of you. "you're amazing, you know that?" he whispered, making you giggle and drift your eyes down.

"you're not so bad yourself." comfortable silence. not the awful alone silence you'd been hearing for weeks on end now; you finally felt safe.

"hey (y/n)... can i tell you something? something i should've said a long, long time ago." you nodded. "i think i love you..." silence. tense silence now. silence waiting on your response.

"good." you whispered, turning and nuzzling against him so you'd be face-to-face. "i think i love you too."
