erik lehnsherr. the man you knew you loved. you fell deeply for him, but you knew you could never be with him. he was too different from you, you knew that would destroy him one day and you found yourself falling deeper and deeper into a hole that was impossible to climb out of, especially since he was the one training you. when the training session ended, you found yourselves become impossibly close to each other, nearly nose to nose. just when you were about to lock lips, charles bursted into your session, quickly stopping the situation and turning you away from him. charles was like your father, he meant well but he was trying to protect you.

you sat at the far end of the training room, hands in your hair and leaning down, eye-line facing the ground. "(y/n)?" you heard his voice echo throughout the room, causing you to try and find a distraction and start wrapping your hands up, noticing the bruising from the previous fighting you'd been doing. "(y/n), i'm so sorry." he finally said when he reached you, "he has no right to speak to us like that..." he attempted to reach for your hands, but you quickly pulled back, taping the wrap and placing it down. "(y/n)."

"erik..." you said, standing up and looking down to look him in the eyes. "i'm sorry, but i can't. not with you... it's not right." you shook your head and pushed past him, walking up to a punching bag, trying to find some way to release your anger.

"you know i want you... it's not a secret I try to hide." you sighed, trying to ignore him and just started to punch the bag, it swinging back and forth so you had to dodge it. "i know you want me... so don't keep saying our hands are tied." he began to walk around you, not to get in your line of punching as he knew how bad a blow from you would hurt. "you claim it's not in the cards, that fate is pulling you miles away... and out of reach from me. but you're here in my heart so who can stop me if i decide that you're my destiny?" you blew out a breath, catching the bag and halted it's swinging; erik took the chance and took you by the shoulder, turning you to face him. "what if we rewrite the stars? say you were made to be mine? nothing could keep us apart, you'd be the one i was meant to find." you shrugged him off and took the bag off the rack, tossing it to the ground and walking away from him; swiftly, he pulled you back to his chest and looked you dead in the eyes.

"it's up to you, and it's up to me. no one can say what we get to be. so why don't we rewrite the stars? maybe the world could be ours... tonight." suddenly, you used your powers to vanish from his grip, which is something you only used in dire situations. erik gasped and reached out as you disappeared, looking around in a frenzied state, trying to find any way to seek you out.

"you think it's easy?" your voice startled erik, looking behind him and above him, suddenly finding himself smiling at your coyness. "you think i don't want to run to you? but there are mountains... and there are doors that we can't walk through. i know you're wondering why... because we're able to be just you and me within these walls." suddenly, he saw your figure appear at the end of the room, leaning carefully against the wall, your lip caught between your teeth. "but when we go outside you're going to wake up and see that it was hopeless after all." erik found himself laughing; the room was extremely long and you knew erik would want to run to you, so he started to walk towards you.

"no one can rewrite the stars... how could you say you'll be mine? everything keeps us apart, and i'm not the one you were meant to find." it physically pained you to say these words, but you knew they were true, which made them hurt worse. "it's not up to you, it's not up to me, when everyone tells us what we can be." you said, gesturing to the door, as if gesturing to charles. without you realizing, erik had begun to run towards you, and he was making surprisingly good time. "how can we rewrite the stars? say that the world could be ours... tonight." you leaned your head back, moving a table in front of you with your hand to block erik's grasp on you. before you could disappear, he reached through and grasped your wrist and lifted you over the desk into his arms.

"it feels impossible." your broken voice whispered, legs wrapping around his waist and hands resting against his face.

"it's not impossible." he assured, grabbing one of your hands in his own.

"is it impossible?"

"say that it's possible..." he began to lean close to you, but you quickly pushed off him, dropping your legs to the floor and running away like a child once more. "how do we rewrite the stars? say you were made to be mine." when you finally ran out of breath, you leaned against the bleachers on the side; he cupped your face and leaned closer towards you.

"nothing can keep us apart, because you are the one i was meant to find."

"it's up to you... and it's up to me..." slowly, you found yourself begin to believe his words, but deep down you still knew that all of this was just a fantasy.

"no one can say what we get to be... so why don't we rewrite the stars? changing the world to be ours tonight?" he lifted you up once more and you obtained the same position you did before, legs wrapped around his waist. there was a long pause in between the both of you, as you caught your breathing; your foreheads were pressed together and your hands were on his cheeks, his hands rested on your hips in order to hold you up.

"you know i want you... it's not a secret i try to hide." he flashed a small smile at you, but you quickly put it to rest. "but i can't have you." you put your hands on his chest and he released you from his grip, once again landing on the floor. "we're bound to break and my hands... are tied." and you walked away, tears threatening to spill from your eyes and you just... walked away.

he simply watched, watched with sad eyes as the woman he loved ran away from him. he's had too many people run away from him in his life, but this one seems to sting the most. he touched his cheek and felt a wetness, quickly wiping away the tear falling down his cheek. solemly, he looked towards the ground and whispered a broken, "i'm sorry."
