imagine wade having to tell you about his cancer

---

This couldn't actually be happening right? Terminal cancer. In Wade Wilson. The unstoppable man who you'd known to love. He couldn't tell you, but he'd have to. He didn't want to, but he'd have to... and he has to do it now before he started showing symptoms. Would you leave him? What would you say? How would you handle it? "Oh my god..." He whispered to himself, running a hand through his hair - he should say goodbye to that as well soon. He questioned everything as he stood at the doorstep of your shared apartment, tears filling up in his eyes; he quickly wiped those away and took a deep breath. Taking his shaking hand and putting it on the doorknob, turning it slowly. "(Y/n)...?" He called out your name, hoping to just get this done quickly as possible. "(Y/n) are you home?" He called, walking into the living room and placing his coat on the couch, running a hand nervously through his hair.

You came bounding the stairs; you were wearing one of his shirts that went down to your knees, wearing a pair of your black panties, your hair up in a super messy bun. The smile you gave him was just enough to make him weak in the knees; you ran up to him and jumped up to give him a giant hug. You noticed he didn't place his hands on your thighs and pull you up to wrap your legs around his waist. Instead, he bent down to be your height and embraced you tightly, so much so that you could barely breathe. After a moment, you felt him begin to shake and felt something wet drip against your shoulder-blade. "Wade, baby are you alright?" You asked, pulling his face away from your neck and seeing his red rimmed eyes. This surprised you, as you'd never seen him cry before. He shook his head and took your hand, leading you to the couch. "Wade, you're scaring me..."

"I'm sorry, but you need to sit down for this." He didn't know how the hell he was going to do it, he couldn't physically do it. "I have something I need to tell you." You grabbed his hands, but he pulled them away, worrying you more.

"What did you do? Did you cheat on me? Did you find another dysfunctional woman with a heart of gold to screw around with?" You asked, and he smiled lightly, placing his hand on your knee. "Did you rob a bank? We can run away and change our names, pretend to be cousins and live in the mountains where no one can find us..."

"I'm afraid it's much worse..." Based on his face, you could tell that he wasn't messing around. This was a serious matter and you straightened up on the look on his face, nodding your head for him to continue. "I really don't know how I'm going to sugar coat this because there is no way to sugar coat this..." He took a breath, tears welling back up in his eyes as he placed his head in his hands, biting his lips. "I... I..."

"It's okay... I'm here... Just say it..." You said, scooting close to him and placing your hand on his knee, causing him to sigh contently.

"I can't... I..." He shook his head. How the hell...? Fuck it, he just had to say it. "I have cancer..." He didn't look at you, he couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to. But he had to. He had to see how you would react, but by god he wish he didn't turn his head.

Your mouth was slightly ajar, tears beginning to well up in your eyes, fists clenched together in a sad rage. "Wh-What?"

"Terminal... it's everywhere (Y/n)... there's not a lot we can do..." What could she say? There was nothing to be said.

"I... Wade are you... you can't..." Your voice broke and on instinct you launched towards him, beginning to sob as you did. He caught you in his arms and pulled you towards him, kissing the top of your head over and over as he found himself crying along with you. He lovingly shushed you though he could barely keep it together himself. After you'd both calmed down - which definitely took a while - you looked up, and he wiped your tears from your face, giving you a sympathetic smile. "I love you... I can't live without you."

"Neither can I... but... we can get through this. We're going to get through this. There are treatments and-" Who was he kidding? The cancer was literally everywhere, there was nothing anyone could do for him. "I'm sorry..."

"It's alright..." You leaned up to kiss his cheeks, pressing your foreheads together. "We're strong... you're strong... we can fight this..."

"I love you..." Wade said, kissing her forehead and laying there in her embrace.

You stayed... and you promised you would forever.
