Malediction

33 - 1925

Danny gently placed a hand on my bare knee, making it clear as to what was going on. With my hands in my lap, picking at my nails, I decided that I couldn't allow him to take the brunt of the blame, nor the explanation. Responding, I lifted my hand and placed it down on top of his.

Expectedly, all eyes fell on the movement.

"Danny" Selena grew quickly angry "Are you kidding me?"

Danny shook his head "You should keep your anger reserved until we tell you the entire story, because it's about to get a whole lot more complicated"

"Danny what have you done?" Blake's eyes were firm on his nephew

"Emilia is aware of our unfortunate condition, she and I have been working together for a few weeks to find a way to break it"

Blake rose, his finger pointed in anger, unable to contain it "Are you out of your mind? Do you have any idea what you're getting yourself into?"

Danny nodded, calm "Yes, we do, because were already waist deep, we met with William, we've met with the woman who set the curse, all of which could have been avoided had you of given me the information yourselves"

"Woah, woah Danny!" Selena then stood alongside her brother "William and Evalia?!"

It was time to find my voice, time to take the focus off of Danny for a moment "It was mostly my doing, I pushed it, he didn't want anything to do with it at first, all I wanted to do was help, I hate the way your family is viewed, I hate that you all have to hide and- "

"Emilia, you have no idea what you've done, you have no understanding of the magnitude of this situation" Blake then turned on me

"As an outsider I have done everything possible in order to understand the magnitude, I put myself in this position, I put myself in throw of Evalia for this" I defended myself

"She's helped me understand myself and my family in less than a months time over the years I've spent with my own mother and uncle" Danny aided me

"Everything we kept from you was kept for good reason, there are some things you just don't need to know Danny! This is a dangerous game!" Selena's eyes widened, furious

"And this" Blake followed suit, pointing between Danny and I "What exactly is this? Because if you both understand the magnitude as you claim, you must know that if you.. if you have feelings for her Danny, it will end in tragedy"

This was where it got complicated. We hadn't explored that part, all we had were admissions of there being something between us. We didn't even know what it was, how did we explain it to them both?

"We've kept distant, we've made sure it's remained completely subdued" Danny tried

"What does that mean Danny?" Blake sighed as he sat

"It means we need help, we need both of you to help us figure this out, before it can't be kept restrained any longer"

"Either it's there or it isn't son, if it's there, whether you keep your hands to yourself or not, it's there, it's potent" Selena rubbed her temples "I knew that by you and your brother attending public school something bad would happen, I just knew it" She mumbled

"Options have been explored before, there is only one, and it isn't viable at this point. We can't help you, either of you" Blake leaned back shaking his head

"There has to be another way" I struggled to lose hope, removing my hand from Danny's, now uncomfortable with the possibility our mere mental attraction could be the death of me
