"Who are you, all of you?" She fretted "What do you want?"
"We want answers" Blake informed her, eyes firm on hers
"I can't help you, I don't have contact with my sister, that's the truth" She took a step back into the house "Now I think it's time you left"
We followed carefully like lions on the prowl
"Do you know what she has done? Do you know what she's doing to people, to my family, to me?" Blake continued as she collected her paperwork from the kitchen counter, eager to flee
"Evalia and I are extremely different from one another, she isn't a pleasant person, which is why we no longer speak" She rushed out, stuffing her papers into her handbag, crinkling them
It was easy to believe her, just by the expression on her face. She was being honest, she was being truthful, and it appeared that even someone of relative blood was afraid of Evalia
"We need your help Victoria" I found my voice, holding my hands up as I tried to calm her "We don't want to hurt you, or scare you, we just want to talk, that's it"
"I told you, I can't help you, I don't know where she is, what she's doing, any of that"
"Please, just hear us out, you might not know it, but you could help us more than you realise, you would be helping us stop her, to stop the evil she's inflicted on this family" I gently persuaded
She hesitated, and I could tell I was winning her over, so I pushed a little more
"These are my friends, Blake and Danny, and my name is Emilia, just like we said. Danny is Blake's nephew, and I'm.." I paused, just what was I? "I'm trying to help them because your sister, she's cursed them"
Victoria was watching me, her eyes sharp when she gave a small sigh "I don't understand"
"Sit, please" I offered with an outstretched hand, taking the first step by sitting myself down at the dining table, Danny and Blake following
Victoria eyed the chair opposite us, and then, she slowly sat
"Evalia and my father, William, they were dating, over 20 years ago. The relationship, it went sour, and Evalia was ultimately left scorned" Blake began to revise "She placed a curse on him, which passes on through his bloodlines, to me, to my sister, and my nephews"
"A curse?" Victoria became interested, a good sign
Danny and Blake both hesitated, unsure of how to explain it
"Love" I answered for them "If a Newscot man or woman develops feelings associated with love for someone, then that person, dies"
It was the only way it could be explained
Blake began "William lost four women, innocent women, including my mother. Danny and his brother, they lost their father, before him, 2 innocent men, and me.."
He willingly revealed new information to even my own ears "I lost the love of my life the day before I was going to ask her to marry me"My heart sunk.
"And now, we fear for Emilia's life" Blake spoke his last sentence with a slight shift in his chair, his eyes quickly meeting mine
Victoria seemed surprised, her lips parted, her eyes unblinking as she absorbed the information
"My sister, she is a dark woman" She stumbled
Blake nodded when her eyes turned on me with a rigid sigh
"You might be next?" She searched for confirmation
