Introducing The Playbook

Blake's POV

I hear my name being called from the cafeteria and I look to see Brody he waves for me to come over. As I reach the table and give Brody a fist bump, I turn to face that attractive girl from this morning, I wink at her, knowing that like most girls she will swoon. Instead she rolls her eyes and stares down at her apple.

"Do you two know each other?" Brody asked curiously

"Yeah this is the girl who tried to break my foot and steal my heart" I say flirtatiously

The attractive girl gets up from the table and stomps out of the cafeteria ( man what was up her ass?)

"Wait where are you going Rose!" Brody yells

But she had already left.

"So my new conquest name is Rose?" I ask intrigued,to know more about the new girl

"I don't know man, she seems smarter than most girls you hook up with" Brody says

"That's why I'm going to use the playbook"

"Dude I thought you got rid of that!"

"I kept it around for a special girl and I I think Rose might be the ultimate conquest"

"Hey name isn't even Rose it's Valerie"

Brody says defensively

"Your not into her?...you just told me you won't be dating any girls at carver!"

"She just seems like she could be a really cool friend" Brody says shrugging

The bell for 6th period rings and I leave Brody and head to the gym. I try to shake off Brody's weird attitude towards me getting with Valerie and when I finally arrive at the gym I get a volleyball and find some people from the team to play with.

Volleyball isn't the manliest sport but Im surprisingly good at it, but my 6'1 height also helps, that's why I'm co captain of the team (Brody being the other co captain) After about 30 minutes of playing, I decide to rest and wait out the final minutes until the bell rings.

Later on in the day I decide that I'll leave 8th period with Brody and we would just head to my house and play some video games.

I wait for Brody by his jeep and go through some unanswered text from some desperate girls, I see Kayla's name from some old message she sent me before her and Brody went out,(I should erase these in case Brody ever finds out) before I could delete the messages , Brody appears with a smile on his face and gets in the car. I get in the passengers side and fiddle with radio until I find a station that is playing a song by the beastie boys. I hum along until finally Brody pulls into my driveway.

When I reach inside my house I call out call out for my mom but I get no reply ( I guess she's at yoga) I don't even try to call out for my bastard of a father . Me and Brody head to the living room, Brody gets the snacks because he practically lives here and I start up the game (call of duty). This is my second favorite thing to do, just hanging out with my best bud without having to worry about chicks.

A couple hours later me and Brody hear the doorbell ring, we rock,paper, scissors to see who will get the door, I win and Brody leaves to get the door. I pause the game and try to listen to hear who it is, Brody sounds surprised by whoever is at the door, I get up to see who it is.

Much to my pleasure, it's Valerie and I'm guessing her mom, I smirk at Valerie and give her mom the most cheesiest smile

"Well hello, you must be the new neighbors" I say cheerily

"Yes we are, it's very nice to meet you, this is my daughter Valerie Rose, are your parents home?" She says in a sweet tone

"No but my mom will be home later, I'll make sure to tell her that our lovely new neighbors stopped by" I say in an even sweeter tone as I look Valerie dead in the eye

"Why don't you hang out with us rose?" Brody ask hopping she would say yes

"Oh you know these boys?" Valerie's mom says

Valerie nods and tells her mom she will be home later as she steps into my house

I wave goodbye to Ms.Rose and look at Valerie as soon as I close the door

"I can't believe you agreed to say, I thought you would stomp on my foot" I say jokingly

"Well I'm quite bored and I'm pretty sure I hate you but Brody is my soon to be best friend" she says as she laughs giving Brody a light slap on the back

"Do you play call of duty?" Brody ask, ready to play Valerie

"I mean I'm not terrible" she says in a cute tone

We all head to the living room and I pull out the extra controller and toss it at Valerie. Twenty minutes later, me and Brody are getting our asses handed to us by Valerie. (She's hot, not into me and good at video games?I hope she's not a lesbian) I look up at Valerie

"I think we got off on the wrong start" I try to say apologetically

"Yeah, you called me a nerd" she says defensively

"Well I'm sorry, can we put that in the past and be friends?" I say as I reach for her hand to shake

"I still think your an asshole" she says shaking my hand
