"Alright Mr. Mercy, I think it would be best if we got straight to the point," Ellie-Ann Jones, the leader of Helios City, said to me as she pushed herself off the wall she'd been leaning on. Ms. Jones is a simple person she doesn't wear makeup: compared to most ladies who work for our government, she dresses comfortably, her skin is dark with small highlights of a honey color, her teeth are pearly white but are not straight, her nose is small round while pointed, her eyes are a chocolatey brown color, her curly hair is styled in an afro, and she does not have the best posture. She is a very private person so there is not much I can say about her but she is thirty-two and she has a niece around the same age as me. Ellie was wearing her signature black sweatpants, a grey jacket, and black boots; overall she didn't really look like she tried at all.
There has always been a genuine aura around Ms. Jones, she never promised things that she knew she couldn't keep, she is one of the good ones and the bad people that had been running the City hate her for it. Ellie-Ann has publicly said that she knows that there are people who are spending hate throughout the city whom she wants to stop, these people are equally as motivated to stop her also.
"Waters!" Ellie-Ann exclaimed as she snapped the fingers on her left hand in front of my face while her right hand stayed in the pocket of her jacket.
"Yes, sorry Ms. Jones I got lost in thought for a moment there," I said nervously as I got myself out of my daze.
Ms. Jones didn't look bothered at all she actually looked amused at my discomfort, even letting out a small chuckle. "You don't have to be nervous, I am just a person and please call me Ellie-Ann."
"I know it's just I don't normally talk to people Higher, I apologize but it feels right to me when I call you Ms.Jones," I said to her avoiding an eye contact.
I could feel Ellie-Ann's glare on me as I looked at my worn-out boots still avoiding eye contact. "Your lips are bloody," she stated calmly but with a little hint of worry.
Quickly I spat the blood that was situated in my mouth onto the snow. "This happens often, I have R.F.E.D."
"It's just that you don't see this every day," she replied simply. "This isn't what I came to talk to you about though, we can't talk here so let's get inside my car," she said spinning around swiftly and walking.
"What car?" I asked looking around genuinely confused, there weren't very many cars down here, as most cars are situated in the Higher because we have the Metro and everyone mostly stay in their section.
Stopping Ellie looked over her shoulder smirked then motioned me over then facing forward walking, only stop a meter from where we previously stood. When I was finally next to her she guided me to the other side before she opened what appeared to be an invisible door to the car apparently. Standing in place I processed what had just occurred until she opened the door that was on my side and told me to get in. The inside of the car was not what I would've expected the seats were a rainbow color, the texture of the seats were very soft, there was a massage mode for the seats, the car could be on autopilot if she got tired, every time to move your feet the lights on the ground would change colors, there was a fair amount of room, there was a small refrigerator, and a storage place filled with food.
"Where are we going?" I asked Ellie as I noticed the car was moving.
"To the Higher, hold on," she said before we hoving above the ground. This is going to be a long ride.
