Kuroo's P.O.V.

Stand a little taller.

Walk a little farther.

Fight a little stronger.

Be a little straighter.

The mocking words of my once friends echo trough my mind. No one told me it would be this hard.

Fag!

Loser!

Attention whore!

Brute!

They fed off of my negative energy.

Idiot!

Dimwit!

Dumbass!

Retard!

They lived off of constantly torturing me. They gained pleasure from my suffering.

Why not just end it here you ask? Well... I thought that for a while, but I discovered a pain reliever, and his name was Akaashi Keiji.

--

I marched down the corridors of an army base, which was really just the hallway leading to my room. I flew into an enemy base, which was just my bedroom. My tracker buzzed, and I stood up straight and tall.

Soldier at ease.

I picked up my phone and got a text from Akaashi. I'll be over in five. I wonder why?

Why?

Why does he bother..?

I'm a loser and he's heard it...

Why does he want to be near, someone like me..?

He's smart, strong, young and beautiful... he doesn't need to be around someone's whose ugly, weak lonely and dumb, like me...

My doorbell ran and I went to open it, face to face with Akaashi.

Attention!

"Why? Why did you come?" I asked. He smiled up at me.

"I thought you would like some company..." I smirked. "Let's go down to that café..." he turned around and began walking.

I struggled putting my shoes on, but I caught up. I wobbled down the sidewalk, desperately trying to keep up with him.

Walk a little faster

I caught with him, just as he turned the corner and walked in front of a little café, called 'Haicafé' in big orange and black letters.

Akaashi walked in and sat down, and I sat across from him.

"Do you want anything, Kuroo-san?" He was so polite.

"I-I'm fine... thanks though Akaashi..." I held my hands up in front of me, just as the waiter came.

She was a pretty blonde girl, and her name tag read Hitoka Yachi. She was obviously nervous. It was funny to see her stutter and stumble.

"H-Hello, welcome to HaiCafé-é, how can I t-take your whoops~ hehe..
order..?" She fumbled with to notebook and almost dropped it.

Akaashi took one look at me, and said "White hot chocolate, which extra whipped cream and an iced coffee with a shot of caramel." He had a blank expression on his face, as I looked at him.

"How did you know..?"

"Kuroo-san, you're the only person I know who drinks hot chocolate in the middle of summer..." He chuckled. I smirked and waited for the food to come.

I slouched in my seat, and sighed. "Kuroo-san, that position is bad for your back..."

San

Kuroo-san

Why san?

Why not chan?

Why not anything at all?

Another man, with grey hair waltzed over to our table with our drinks. His name tag read Sugawara Koushi. He seemed like he knew what he was doing, and he had a large, toothy grin on his face as he approached the table.

"White hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and an iced coffee with a shot of caramel?" He said it all with a smile on his face, a smile bright as day.

I held my hand up slightly as he placed the warm cup in front of me. I slowly wrapped my hands around the mug, shivering at the warm feeling.

I took a big swig and smiled, getting a mustache of white whipped cream across my top lip and Akaashi laughed.

"You dork! You look so stupid!"

Dork

Stupid

He says those words to me, with a smile, just like the others...

But his smile is kind.

Before I could think twice he leaned over the table and wiped my lip clean with his thumb.

I froze up.

Attention!

He chuckled and I gave him an innocent smirk, as I slouched again.

At ease.

"Kuroo! Stop slouching! You're a volleyball player and you need your back!"

Kuroo...

Just... Kuroo... plain, old Kuroo...

No san, just Kuroo...

God I love him so much...

But why?

Why do I?
