When Misfortune Brings Some Love

Chap 4 - One Long Night

"I'm not really sure..." Those words echoed in Ryuuta's mind. Although he had already arrived at his home, those words was still mingling in his head. 'It's impossible... He's not gay. Shinya absolutely isn't gay! And I hope he isn't...' He thought.

During dinner, Ryuuta was stealing a glance to look at Shinya's face several times. His curiousity about Shinya's preference was bugging him so much. 'What happen if he's actually gay?! I'll be eaten by him sooner or later if I keep sharing my room with him!' Ryuuta's mind screaming with horror.

"Ryuu-chan, that's a ketchup..." Naoto's voice brought Ryuuta back from his daydream.

Ryuuta's eyes widened. He almost drank that ketchup instead of a glass of water because he was thinking about that thought all day. 'Damn! It's really embarassing!' He thought.

"What's wrong with you today?" Shinya asked Ryuuta when they were back to their room.

"No- nothing..." Ryuuta answered. He didn't know how to look straight into Shinya's eyes after his talk with Naoyuki this afternoon.

"Are you still angry because of what was happened this morning at school?" Shinya asked again.

That question brought back Ryuuta's full attention to the real world. 'Ah! He's right! How can I forget about what's happened before???' Ryuuta's eyebrows furrowed. "So, what if it's true?" He pouted.

Shinya sighed. "Sooner or later, they'll find it... What's the problem?"

Hearing that, Ryuuta's heart filled with anger. "What's the problem? You said what's the problem??? Of course it's a big problem!!!" He shouted, "I feel ashamed because they will know that I, Igarashi Ryuuta, is a son of a gay father!"

Shinya shook his head. "Well... I don't think that they'll know about our fathers' relationship." Shinya continued, "All what I said today is about us living together."

"Not yet, Hanatsuki-san. Not yet!" Ryuuta shouted at Shinya, calling him by his family name intentionally. "It's just about the time! They'll know it sooner or later, and they will mocking me!"

"It won't happen Ryuu-chan." Shinya said, reassuring Ryuuta's anger.

"Don't 'Ryuu-chan' me!" Ryuuta slapped Shinya's hand. "Since you and your father came into my life, nothing good happened to me. You ruined my life. You and your father ruined my life."

Shinya tried to calm Ryuuta down. "No one ruined your life Ryuu-chan. Everything will be okay. You are just overreacted."

Hearing the word 'Ryuu-chan' again, Ryuuta was getting angrier. "I said don't Ryuu-chan me! I hate you. I hate all of you! You and your disgusting father! Get out from my life and my father life! Freak! Disgusting! You are such an eyesore! Abomina―"

SLAP!

Shinya reflexly slapped Ryuuta's cheek. Hearing Ryuuta insulting his father made him seeing red. "Sorry... I never meant to..." Shinya couldn't continue his word. He never intended to do that thing to Ryuuta.

"So... This is your answer?" Ryuuta shouted. The tears were forming in the corner of his eyes. "I understand now! I won't join this disgusting family game anymore!" After Ryuuta said those words, he grabbed his bag and stuffed that bag with his clothes.

"What are you doing!" Shinya grabbed Ryuuta's hand. "You won't go anywhere!"

"You know exactly what I'm doing!" He replied in high pitch, "I quit! If you still wanna play this idiot game, it's up to you. I never want to live in this mess from the start!!!" And then he went out from that room, running downstairs.

Naoto and Rin who had been inside their room came out because of the loud noises. Naoto was the first one who asked, "What happens? Ryuu-chan, what are you gonna do with your luggage?"

Ryuuta looked at his father with a disappointment. "As if you care about it!" He spat, "And even if you are, I don't give a shit about that! It's just too much. I'll be crazy if I keep staying here!" Then he opened the door and run as fast as he could, so no one would chase and find him.

Shinya tried to chase him back, but he was lost on his track to find him. One thing that Ryuuta got from his father was his speed. He came home with empty hand. He walked to his room and slumped down on the bed. 'Ryuuta....' Ryuuta's angry face kept replaying inside his head. 'Today is such a long night...'

Naoto and Rin didn't say anything when Shinya came back without Ryuuta. They just walked into their room and sat down in their bed. "Everything will be okay..." Rin whispered softly, assuring his partner by placing his head on Naoto's chest while entwining their hands together.
