When Misfortune Brings Some Love

Chap 1 - Where It Begins

"Ryuu-chan... Today we'll have dinner outside. I wanna introduce you to my new lover." That was all Ryuuta's father had said this morning.

Right now, he was sitting along with the three men at the same table with him. His eyebrows was twitching. He glared at his father. He needed an explanation for this situation. 'A new lover? And a man? MAN???' He thought. 'Is there no woman left outside???'

"Ryuu-chan, he is my lover, Hanatsuki Rin." His father introduced a man who was sitting beside him to Ryuuta with a happy face. Rin was slightly taller than Ryuuta, but he was still shorter than his father. Even though Ryuuta knew that Rin was over 30 years old, he looked like still in his 20s. Ryuuta nodded his head towards Rin which was replied by Rin's smile.

His father also introduced the other guy who was sitting along with them. "And this is Rin's son, Hanatsuki Shinya." Shinya and Ryuuta nodded their heads towards each other. Shinya was slightly taller than his father about one or two inches. He seemed a year older than Ryuuta, and he had a deep voice which was quite alluring if Ryuuta might add in his mind.

"Nice too meet you, Ryuuta." Shinya greeted with his rich bariton voice. His expression was unreadable, making Ryuuta confused about what actually was that guy thinking about this situation right now.

"Oh." Ryuuta responded coldly. He felt like vomitting. 'My lover your ass!' He thought. 'Hope he'll explain me about this later!' He had already lost his appetite by hearing this news.

"What's wrong Ryuu-chan? You don't like the food?" His dad asked, seeing his only son was playing with his food.

Ryuuta gave a long sighed. "As if I could eat after knowing the fact that my dad is dating with a man."

His dad was shocked by his only son's statement, then he sent a meaningful glare towards him. The situation among them became so awkward. Finally, his dad gave his reply, "I know, son. However, I'm unable to control this feeling inside me. You know how does it feel to love someone, right?",which was gained such a disapproving look from his son.

Gladly, the meeting was finally over. Ryuuta and his dad came back to their home after drove Rin and Shinya to their home.

When Ryuuta got home, he immediately went to his room, throwing himself to his bed. He gave a long sigh. Rin and Shinya might be a good person. Rin and his father might be loved each other so much. But still... He couldn't accept the fact that Rin was male. He couldn't accept the fact that his dad was gay. He felt so tired now. He slowly fell asleep.

When Ryuuta woke up this morning, his father was already sitting at the dining room along with a breakfast that was provided. His father looked like want to say something to him. Ryuuta hoped that was a good news. "It seems you have something to tell." Ryuuta stated.

"Err... Ryuu-chan." His father started to talk, "Maybe you are against my decisions, but from next week, Rin and Shinya will live with us."

"What?" He was processing what he had just heard. "Wh.. WHAT???"

"Ryuu-chan, calm down..." His father tried to calm him down. "Rin and Shinya are nice person. We'll get along together. I'm sure you'll be a good friend with Shinya since he is at the same age as you."

"What the hell are you thinking???" Ryuuta exclaimed. "Is there no woman left outside???"

"Well... At least, I've already told you about this news." His father said, and then he saw the clock. "Oops! It seems I need to go to my office now. Bye." His father left his seat and walked to the door, ignoring what his son said.

"Hei! Wait! I never said that I was agree with this!!!" Ryuuta shouted. "Oi, damn old man! I said I'm against this!" He tried to catch his father, but his father walked faster than him. His father had already left, leaving his son fuming with rage.

He finished his breakfast, and then he walked to his school lazily. He couldn't believe this thing would be happened to him. First, his father was falling in love with a man. And now, he would live in the same roof with his father's lover since next week. This situation really made him going crazy. He hoped another misfortune wouldn't come to him anymore.

At school, Ryuuta's best friend, Naoyuki, waved his hand in front of his face when he was daydreaming during breaks. "Ryuu, come back to earth!" He said next to Ryuuta's ear.

Ryuuta gasped in surprise. His soul had already returned to earth. Those crazy problems drained off his energy. Today, he was just daydreaming all day. He had no desire to study, or to eat, or even to talk with his friend. Ryuuta was an energetic person, but today he seemed lost his spirit.

"What happened Ryuu?" Naoyuki asked with worried. "You seem very gloomy."

Ryuuta gave a long sigh. "It's OK. I just think about something." He lied. He didn't want his friend knew about this crazy thing. It was impossible to him to said something like 'I have a problem. My father is being gay now.' or 'I'll have new gay-step-father and I'll be living with him from next week.' Of course that was absolutely impossible for him to say.

Naoyuki knew that something must be happened, but he didn't force Ryuuta to tell the truth. He would wait until Ryuuta was ready to talk about his problem. "I won't push you if you said so. I just want to make sure if you're okay."

'OK??? I'm not OK!' He thought, but he just smiled and replied, "Thanks for worrying me." And pretended there was nothing happened to him.
