My friend jokes that I'm space dad. Well it's not really a joke, I am.
Sorry for not posting, I was too busy to sit down and write but I also had a couple chances to think about the plot and improve it.

"Keith." the church history teacher called on him.

"1867," Keith answered almost certain this was the correct answer.

"Close, but no. It was 1873." the teacher smiled and then proceeded to ask another question to another student.

God, she probably thinks I'm so stupid. My classmates probably think so too, Keith thought to himself, It's not even like I wasn't paying attention, I was. I should have known. I did know. I'm just so stupid. They're probably all laughing under their breath. Who wouldn't know that date? An idiot, Keith continued lecturing himself until someone tapped his shoulder. He turned around to see an Asian girl with long black hair, who was sitting at the desk behind him. She looked at him with concern.

"Hey, are you okay?" she asked in a whisper.

"Yeah, of course," Keith answered forcing a smile, "Why?"

"You were muttering something. I couldn't understand it though." Her eyes were dark brown but bright.

"Oh," Keith blushed embarrassed, "Sorry, I was just talking to myself."

"Okay." the girl still looked slightly concerned. Keith turned his body to face the teacher once again.

The class continued until the bell rang and the teacher started quickly assigning homework before the students could leave. Keith pulled his backpack out from under his desk and started pushing his books into it. Other kids did the same and most started to walk out of the room with their friends. While slinging his backpack over his shoulder, Keith stood up and started to walk towards the door until he heard a voice come from behind him,

"Hey." Keith turned around, once again, to see the same girl as before standing behind him. She was wearing tight grey jeans, a blue tank top, a grey flannel was tied around her waist, a dark grey backpack and the outfit was paired with a pair of beat up doc martin, "I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch together?"

"I, uh," Keith was confused, why was she asking him this? "I mean, that is unless you have other people to eat lunch with. I just thought that because you're new, you would want someone to sit with," she explained.

"I actually don't have anyone to eat with. Where do you want to meet up?'" Keith was surprised that he agreed to this, he barely knew anything about this girl.

"My locker is right by the cafeteria. Do you want to eat there?" she asked.

"Oh, my locker is just down the hall." Keith shuffled awkwardly, he looked up and saw that all the other students had left. The teacher and was sitting at her desk typing on her computer, she didn't seem to care that Keith and this other girl were still in the classroom.

"Okay, I'll walk with you there, then we'll go to my locker and to the cafeteria," she offered.

Keith was still confused by her offer, "Okay. I'm Keith by the way."

"I'm Fio," she said as they walked out of the classroom and down the hall towards Keith's locker.

Keith and Fio walked towards one of the many empty tables in the cafeteria. Most people had clubs during lunch or were eating in other areas of the school so there were only about thirty other people in the room. Keith had bought a BLT and a water and Fio had gotten a couple waffles and a water as well.

"So, what's your story? Why'd you move schools?" Fio asked as she and Keith set their food on the table and sat down.

"I switched foster families," Keith answered.

"Why?" Fio questioned.

Keith took a bite of his sandwich, chewed, and swallowed as Fio looked at him curiously, "The mom got a job offer somewhere in Louisiana and she took it, but I didn't want to move so far away and so I moved foster families." Keith knew that was only part of the reason.

"How long did you live with them?" Fio began cutting her waffles.

"Almost four months I think." this time Keith was telling the full truth.

"Is that a long time to stay with someone?"

"Before that, the longest I had stayed with someone was a couple weeks. So, yeah, that was a long time for me."

"Why didn't you move with them then? I mean if you stayed with them so long then you must have liked them."

"I just didn't want to move so far away." Fio picked up on the fact Keith didn't want to go into detail and didn't ask any more question related to his previous foster family.

"So, what about you?" Keith asked Fio as she took a sip of her water.

"Well, I'm a sophomore and I really like dancing and-" Fio was cut off as a tray was placed next to Keith and a small figure sat down next to him and said:

"Keith, you've only been here a couple days and you already found yourself a girlfriend."

It was Pidge. Soon Hunk also sat down with a food tray in hand. He was sat on the other side of Fio. He chuckled a bit and then took a bite of his food. Keith was confused for a second but realized what Pidge said and looked over at Fio. She was looking down at her lap and Keith could barely see the blush on her cheeks.

"No, no, no, it's nothing like that," Keith stuttered, embarrassed. Pidge raised their light brown eyebrows at him questioningly.

"Really," Keith tries to convince Pidge, "We're just friends."

"Yeah," Fio says. Keith looks at her to see she is no longer looking at her lap but instead at PIdge and then at Hunk. Her light blush is gone.

"Okayyyy," Pidge slurs out the end of the word as they take a bite of their food.

"I'm Hunk," Hunk introduces himself to Fio.

"Pidge," Pidge introduces themselves as well.

"I'm Fio, it's nice to meet you," Fio smiles at the two, "I'm assuming you're Keith's friend."

"Ya, we are." Pidge has finished their food now.

Fio turns to Keith, "I thought you had no one to eat lunch with?"

"I didn't. At least I thought I didn't," Keith answers truthfully then turns to Pidge and Hunk, "Speaking of, why are you guys here? Don't you have other friends to eat lunch with?"

"Well, Lance," Keith remembered the gorgeous boy from earlier, "has a swim meet," Pidge says.

"And because Shiro and Allura are juniors they decided to eat off campus today," Hunk answers. Keiths wonders who Shiro and Allura were. The four of them continued to talk and eat their Lunch until the bell rang. They all walked to their next class
