Kaleo - Save Yourself
"Tell your secrets to the night
You do yours and I do mine
So we won't have to keep them all inside."HOLDEN WAS STANDING IN DAMON'S ROOM. He frowned slightly seeing Damon remove all the notes, maps and newspaper cuttings from his closet while a TV spoke. "Whether suicide, or a tragic accident, WPKW News has lost one of its shining stars," the reporter spoke through the TV as Holden glanced at Damon's blank face. "Fled reporter and weekend anchor Andie Star was discovered..."
Before they could hear further news they already knew, Elena walked in. She stopped when she saw Damon removing everything from the wall and Holden standing a few feet away, his arms crossed over his chest. "Just can't stay away, can you?" Damon joked dryly.
Elena just looked at Holden, who glanced at her blankly. "You've been dodging my calls," she stated calmly then turned to Damon. "Both of you."
"Yeah, well, busy dating a dead fake girlfriend and all," Damon commented as Holden saw sadness in his brother's face. Damon did care for Andie, but as always he tried to act like he didn't.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Elena asked continuing looking from one Salvatore to another.
"Happy Birthday, Elena. Stefan killed Andie. Cake?" Damon questioned sarcastically as Holden just furrowed his eyebrows, but continued being quiet.
Elena then let out a sigh. "He called me," she admitted and they both looked at her in confusion.
"Who?" Holden mused so Elena gave him a knowing look.
"Stefan called me last night," Elena clarified as Holden and Damon exchanged an odd look.
"Well, what'd he say?" Holden asked curiously, thinking that it was weird for a ripper to call his girlfriend. Unless Damon lied and Stefan wasn't lost.
"He didn't say anything, but it was him," Elena nodded so Damon rolled his eyes expressively. "I asked Sheriff Forbes if she would trace the cell's origin. It came from Tennessee."
Before Holden could speak, Damon intertwined. "Where's he's binge drinking on the country folk. Holden and I went through this already, Elena. Stefan's gone. I don't mean geographically," he snapped before throwing the documents into the unlit fireplace.
Elena turned to Holden, who was thinking but didn't say anything. "If he was gone, he wouldn't have called," she mused sadly before leaving the room.
