Chapter III:

To say my body hurt would be the understatement of the fucking century.

I couldn't remember anything—but extreme pain. Tavvy told me that Doctor Lee had to rush into the room and sedate me during the Change because I started seizing, but she told me that I did complete it. So basically she was telling me that everyone has seen my wolf except me.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

"So why do you think I started seizing?"  I wondered.

"I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you, Livvy," she replied with a frown. Tavvy had small bags under her eyes from lack of sleep and she was moving much slower than she usually does. "No Change is alike. I'm really just glad that you're okay. For a second, I was afraid that you weren't going to make it. Scared the hell out of me—out of everyone."

"Sorry about that," I mumbled. I still didn't feel one hundred perfect. I felt completely drained of energy, but I was alive so i couldn't complain too much.

"Don't apologize, sweetheart. It's not your fault." She placed a cool, dainty hand on my forehead and hummed. "Your fever still hasn't broke."

"Damn." She responded by turning up the thermostat up to hell, and tucking me into my sheets. "Ugh, turn it down. It's too hot."

"That's the point," she said. "You need to sweat out your fever. It shouldn't take more than a few hours though."

"Ugh, this sucks. Worst birthday ever," I muttered with a groan. It honestly was. Even worse than when I was eleven, and two servants accidentally dropped my five tier birthday cake on one of my party guest—it's a long story.

"Don't move too fast," my sister blurted out even though all I did was flip from my right side to the left. "Liv, you need to keep still so that your body can heal correctly. You don't want to accidentally cause any permanent damage. Are you still in pain?"

"What do you think?" I demanded, rolling my eyes. She walked over to the IV, something I didn't have connected to me when I began the Change, and began fiddling with it. "What are you doing?"

"Upping your dosage of Morphine," she replied calmly.

I groaned loudly, failing miserably to push her tiny body away from the IV. "Move! I don't wanna be on cloud nine at my birthday ball."

She sighed. "Morphine only affects the human body for four to five hours; it affects the werewolf body for even less time. It'll be out of your system by tonight."

"It better be." I watched as she continued messing with the IV. "So how does my wolf look?"

"You're absolutely gorgeous!" she squealed grinning. "Your pelt is so many different colors; grey and white and black and brown. And you have a few patches of red in it. Oh! And your fur is super soft."

I smiled. "How long did I stay a wolf?"

"You finished the Change at about 12:30, and you stayed a wolf until about 1:15. But you Changed back because of me. I gave you impetu."

Impetu was the medicine that she gave to the war wolves that were too wounded to change back to their human form so that she could treat them.

"Oh, okay." I was wiggling around in the bed when a bee flew past my face. "Ew! Tavvy, it's a bee in here! Kill it!"

She calmly walked to the window and opened it. The bee flew out seconds later. "You shouldn't try to kill them. Did you know the end of bees would be the end of humanity?" she said.
