"So you're taking care of her", F/N asked making her bed. Elli was in another room playing with a different kid we had here.

"I don't even know, this kid made me smile, F/N SMILE, even if she is Rize's kid, I can't turn her in, if I did I would be put on Radar", F/N was deep in thought.

"Are you gonna get a job, you need money to take care of a child, this is a big responsibility, you're 19 Y/N, 19, Elli needs a lot of attention, she's what, only 6 and smart as fuck", I rubbed my face with both hands and groaned.

"I'm going soft F/N, and yes, I'm getting a job", she sat next to me on the floor.

"Hey, I'll help you, I can be your wife", she joked trying to make me chuckle.

I didn't. She sighed.

"You can get a job at Anteiku, it's a Ghoul cafe anyways, maybe they'll pay you well there."

"Hope so."

"Where are we going Onēsan", ha, big sister. That feels better then being called mom.

"I'm gonna try to get a job", she nodded and kept walking holding my hand.

I had my hoodie up, so did Elli.

I didn't open the envelope that was in her backpack. I forgot about it yesterday night since I was focused on what I was going to do with Elli. Obviously going to get her a mask first from Uta.

"Onēsan I'm hungry", she whined.

"I'll give you food in a bit", I was looking around. We were pretty far from home. Who knew it would take this long to get to Anteiku.

"Excuse me Ma'am", I turned around to be met with stitch face.

"What's up", he raised an eyebrow.

"Uh, the sky", I growled.

"Anyways, we're taking blood tests from people to see if they are ghouls or not, and yes I am an investigator, no need to worry", he showed me his ID and smiled.

Worry flamed inside my stomach.

'What did they say I had to do when this happens' I remembered a while back, in the 'Kingdom of Tragedies' we had a class that instructed what to do in situations such as this one.

"So I need a blood sample", he grinned bringing out a small knife.

"Uh, yeah no thanks", I said turning away pulling Elli with me.

"But it's mandatory, you can't say no, unless you're a Ghoul". He giggled pulling me back.

"You can't force a citizen to do anything they don't want to do, if I don't want to get my blood drawn by a smiling maniac that comes up to random people accusing them of being ghouls I don't have to, get your laws and facts straight, have good day", I left him there confused.

He was told they couldn't refuse. But he thinks people at the CCG are stupid anyways. He groaned frustrated with the girl.

"He was scary Onēsan", Elli clutched my hand harder.

"It's fine Elliot, you gotta know your way around shit like this", she gasped.

"Daddy said to never say bad words", Daddy?

"We'll talk later about everything, we're here", she clapped her hands.

"I know this place, Mama took me here once", she ran to the door and jumped up and down waiting for me.

"Come on hurry up Onēsan, we don't have all daaaaaay", I smiled and picked her up.

I opened the door with a ding.
