Zouis family sufferings - one direction sickfic

Chapter 17

Over the next few days things only really get worse for the family as Louis ends up getting sick again although izzy does make a full recovery and gets discharged.
"Louis you sure your going to be okay?" Ash asks as she's packing Izzy's stuff.
"Yeah I'll be fine I'm feeling loads better now and Liam's a lot better as well aren't you bud."
"Yeah just wish my temperature would decide what it's doing and then I can get out of here." Liam mumbled while playing on his phone. Liam had recovered from his stomach bug and was eating properly again however they just couldn't get his temperature down unless he was on strong medication.
"A doctors coming in today bud and hopefully there have some answers." Louis reassured as he felt Liam curl into him.
"I hope so." Liam said looking up at his dad. He had missed cuddling Louis as even though his dad hadn't left the hospital because Louis ended up getting sick he was admitted himself as that was the only way he could stay but it meant that he couldn't have any physical contact with Liam.

"Alright well I'm going to get this one home. I'll see you soon." Ash said and Louis and Liam nodded before ash left with izzy. Louis and Liam weren't waiting long however till a familiar doctor walked in and Louis recognised him as Dr Walks Who was Harry's Doctor.
"Hey Louis it's normally harry I see when your here." He said smiling sadly at Liam.
"Yeah it's the other one this time having problems."
"Yeah I've been looking over Liam's notes for the past hour. I'm sorry I would have been his doctor from the start but I've been on holiday."
"It's fine your allowed a break." Louis said and dr Walks smiled before turning his attention to Liam.
"How you feeling bud."
"Okay I guess. Just want my temperature to settle so I can go home."
"I bet." Dr Walks said as he took Liam's temperature for himself.
"Yeah it's still pretty high, I'm going to give you some more free reducer and then I'll discuss what's going to happen, Where's Zayn?"
"He's at home with Harry he's having a bit of a difficult time." Louis explained.
"It might be best to see if someone can stay with harry and have Zayn here as well so I can explain the plan to get Liam out of here." He said and Louis nodded.
"Course I'll ring him now his mum can probably look after harry for a couple of hours." Louis said and Dr Walks nodded saying he would be back in a couple of hours.

Ash picked Zack up on her way home from the hospital and was relieved when she found out that Zack was over the vomiting stage of the bug but sighed when she heard that the boy had a pretty intense migraine.

"Why don't you go lie on the sofa izzy and watch cartoons I'm just going to help your brother into bed as he's got a bad migraine." Ash explained and izzy nodded getting comfy on the sofa while her mum gently herded Zack upstairs.
"You going to be alright up here?"
"Yeah mum I'll be fine." Zack mumbled laying his head down on his pillow and closed his eyes just wanting to sleep as when he slept he wasn't in pain.

"Come on Ni were going to your house." Trisha called and Niall soon crawled over.
"Come on monkey lets get going." Trisha said picking the boy up and taking him out to the car before driving towards Zayn's. When she arrived she picked Niall up and carried him towards the front door and the boy squealed happily when he saw Niall.
"Hey baby boy." Zayn said taking Niall into his hold and cuddling the boy close while Niall babbled away.
"Thanks so much Mum, Louis said it was pretty urgent so I need to get going. Harry's in the lounge watching tv and he seems to be having a good day so hopefully he'll be alright." Zayn said and then placed Niall down but the boy started to cry when he was out of Zayn's hold. He hadn't seen his papa in days and didn't want to leave him again.

"Why don't you go and find Haz Ni, I'm sure he'd like to see you." Zayn tried but the boy just cried reaching up for Zayn who sighed but picked him back up. Trisha then offered to take him but Zayn shook his head.
"It's fine I'll take him with me." Zayn said and Trisha sighed.
"Is that a good idea?"
"He'll be fine, but I'm not leaving him when he's this upset. Plus I'm sure he'd love to see Liam and Louis." Zayn said and Trisha nodded.
"Alright I'll see you later then." Trisha said walking into the house while Zayn left putting Niall in the car and heading for the hospital.

When they arrived Niall was looking around curiously at all the things.
"Ni I need you to be well behaved while we're here Yeah." Zayn said and Niall nodded before Zayn headed for where Liam was. Niall's head shot up from Zayn's shoulder when he caught sight of Louis and was desperate for Louis to take him.
"Ady, Ady." Niall chanted and Louis quickly took him.
"Hey baby, I wasn't expecting to see you." Louis said hugging Niall while Zayn went over to Liam hugging him close.

Dr Walks soon walked and greeted Zayn before waving at Niall having met the small boy before as he usually came with his parents when harry came in for check ups.
"Alright so now your here Zayn I can explain my plan. Liam is physically well enough to be discharged." Dr Walks explained and Liam beamed at that news but dr Walks continued.
"However we cant because he's relying so heavily on the medication to control his temperature. So I've been looking into things and I think the best thing to do is to fit Liam with a pic line and then assign a group of nurses to your family where one will be on hand constantly." Dr walks explained.
"So he can come home as long as he has this pic line fitted." Louis asked and dr Walks nodded.
"Yep." Dr Walks smiled and then Liam spoke up from his space on the bed having Niall curled into his side.
"How does the pic line get inserted?"
"It's a simple procedure where we can either give you a general anaesthetic or a local anaesthetic."
"What's the difference?"
"With a local anaesthetic your be awake the whole time and we're basically numb the area or with a general anaesthetic your be put to sleep and will remain asleep throughout."
"I don't want a general." Liam said knowing it will probably take him longer to recover from a general and he just wanted to get home."
"We're talk about this more in the morning. But for now I'll leave you all too it and I'll see you tomorrow." Dr Walks said with a wave and Liam was smiling the widest he had all week.
"So I can hopefully go home tomorrow." Liam stated happily cuddling Niall close as the boy had fallen asleep.
"Don't get your hopes up to high Li we don't know what will happen. But yeah hopefully the end of this hospital stay is in sight.

Zayn stayed with Louis and Liam for a couple more hours before deciding to get going promising he would be back in the morning as he didn't want to leave Louis alone during Liam's procedure as he knew the man would panic and work himself up with worry. Once he said goodbye to Liam and Louis he picked a sleeping Niall up and left the hospital hoping to have all his family home again by tomorrow night.

I know it's really short, but at least it's something. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year.
