Cath POV
I was running on a roof, of which house or where I didn't know. And I didn't care. I was trying to get away from demons that were supposed to assassinate me and my team.
Well, for now they did not succeed and I hoped it stayed that way.Speaking of my team, I saw a yellow scarf appear in front of me. That meant Cain was going to fight the demons. Great... Let me explain the usage of words, Cain is a really good fighter.
But there's a problem, he always creates a mess. I don't blame him, getting stuck with the powers to control reality. He is a very good illusionist too, as expected. He jumped down from the roof and waved at me and our fellow teammate Fen to get out. We of course obeyed the oh-so alpha male.
As we were getting away, I heard a big boom followed by a lot of screams. Demon screams. They were music to my ears and signalized Cain took care of the trash. Not even ten seconds after, I heard a weird sound. I was not scared of it, it was only Cain teleporting to us.
"Damn demons.. wasting my previous time.."
Came out of the now bloodied man. I laughed, expecting this comment. Fen just stayed put and stared at us, and I understood we were in the human world for too long.
"Guys. Pack your things, we are leaving this unholy place."
Fen finally said, from his words it would be obvious he was one of the "good" guardians like me and unlike Cain who was neutral.
We nodded, not packing our things as we didn't bring anything with us. Me and Fen grabbed onto Cain and closed our eyes tightly. In a moment we stood in a beautiful garden. The garden of Ko, the goddess of creation and our truthful leader. There was no sign of her though.
I looked around and realised Cain left. Propably to see his daughter, I didn't know her name. I frowned and looked up at Fen. (Yes I'm even smaller than him, but shaddup I'm 164 centi)
"We should go find Ko, sis. Was that what you were going to say, Fenril?"
We both quickly turned around, suprised. And there, in front of us stood the divine woman herself. Goddes Ko.
"Your majesty"
Both me and Fen got down on one knee and showed respect. The woman was satisfied and giggled.
"Where's the dragon boy? Did he leave already? Oh, too bad. I needed to talk with him about Luna."
She pouted and turned around, picking up a flower and planting it into her long brown hair. Wait, Luna? Who's that? Had Cain finally moved on? I had a lot of questions, but I wouldn't dare to question Ko.
To answer her question though, I nodded, signaling Cain had truly left. Or was nowhere in sight at least.
"Boo."
I shrieked and jumped up, letting my antlers show unwillingly. Hearing laughter, I calmed down a little, still a holding a fireball in my hand, just to be sure.
"Catherine~ You're just too easy to scare, my deer friend."
Was that a pun? Surely it was. I did not expect Cain to say a joke. Wait. Cain? Was he the one that scared me? Oh he's a dead dead man.
"Oh holy shit bucket, calm down, you're changing to your original form."
Surely enough, I felt walking on two legs becoming difficult. I truly was morphing into a deer.. So I took a deep breath in order to stop changing and get back control. I totally forgot I was in the garden though. Quickly regaining my cool, I spoke.
"Oh your worship, Cain has.. arrived. I am very sorry, I did not know he would show up. Please forgive me."
Oh how much I hated the eyeless boy snickering right now. What if Ko did something to me, thinking I lied about Cain not being here?!?
"Seriously, chill. Your head is a mess, It's distracting."
Cain said quietly, obviously trying to provoke me. But when I tried to look at him, my eyes couldn't find him. Only to realize he indeed wasn't here but just messed up my reality. I tried to get out of his little game, to no avail. Damnit Cain.
I shook my head more, starting to hear hysterical laughter. Feminine.
I realised I was in the real world again, but still checked just to be sure. Then I identified the laughter. It was the goddess. She was laughing at me. My savior.. oh now you're gonna get it Cain."Bwahaha, that was awesome! Thanks Cath! Really needed that laugh."
So I helped? She wasn't mad or anything? Cain... Why. I smiled at her, and excused myself, as Fen already left.
Ko POV
After the deer and bird left, I stopped smiling, noticing a strange scent in my garden. This hovewer, wasn't any of my guardians, yet smelled like it. So we had a traitor, interesting.
I manifested energy into my hand, creating a bow and getting ready to kill the intruder. I heard shuffling in the leafs, only one person? Must be very brave, I give them that. Coming after the most powerful being in this universe.
Suddenly though, something dark grabbed the arrow I had pointed to the trees. I noticed the familiar markings, the glowing yellow eyes and most importantly horns, wings and a madly swishing tail.
"Don't even try doing that."
Said the demon looking boy. I growled, but relaxed and took the bow down. Even if I was stronger than Cain, it wasn't by much. That's why he never addressed me as something higher. He knows he's at the same level. He removed his hand and looked towards the tree.
"Luna, come down. You failed. But you tried real hard, so congratulations on getting so far."
So it was Luna, Cains daughter sneaking in my garden. Cain must have been training her, poor girl. Only 20 and already getting the Ravions soul. Ah what am I saying. I was the one who orchestrated this, but the girl didn't know, still showing respect. That's why she's still alive, didn't end up like her father.
I turned to Cain though, letting out a 'go on' expression. We both knew we wanted to talk about something. After all, we used to be best friends and partners in crime.
Used to.
