“Harry, are you sure they went up here?” Jez asked as she got pulled up a flight of stairs by Harry.
“Yeah, c’mon,” Harry slurred and continued to pull Jez up the stairs.
After almost kissing Harry, Jez avoided him as much as she could by staying in the middle of the crowd on the dance floor. She wasn’t exactly in the mood for dancing after the incident, but she was sure that it was better than dealing with the awkward conversation that was sure to follow.
Once Haz pulled her out of the crowd of dancers, she immediately braced herself for what she was about to face but once she saw Harry, she relaxed, knowing that whatever conversation they had to have wouldn’t happen that night.
“He’s so wasted,” Haz whispered as they got into the car and then burst into a fit of laughter.
Jez sighed. Management was not going to like this.
Now they were both back at the hotel, and Jez was letting Harry drag her around as they searched for Louis, Niall and Haz.
“Are you sure they didn’t just go back to their rooms?” Jez asked, annoyance creeping into her voice.
Before Harry could answer, he opened a door and walked out, pulling Jez with him; she felt cold air hit her face. “Where are we?” Jez asked as she looked around.
“The roof,” Harry answered, turning around to look at her.
“And why are we on the roof?” Jez asked, confused.
Instead of answering, Harry simply pointed up; Jez looked up and felt her jaw drop slightly. The sky was clear and was peppered with stars. Since they were on the road so much, she rarely got to see the night sky anymore and up until now she wasn’t aware of how much she missed it.
“Why did you bring me here?” Jez asked Harry, who was walking over to the railing to lean on it.
“I remember you saying that when you couldn’t sleep you used to go out and look out at the stars,” Harry said, his words slurring together and his voice deeper than usual.
Jez smiled and shook her head, “Yeah, when I couldn’t sleep. I don’t think I have a sleeping problem right now.”
The corner of Harry’s mouth turned up into a half smile, “I’m trying to be nice.”
“Well, you’ve never been awful to me,” Jez pointed out and leaned against the railing next to Harry.
“Tell me a story,” Harry said suddenly.
“What?”
“Tell me a story,” Harry repeated slower, his words mixing together.
“You’re drunk,” Jez stated, a smile on her face.
“No m’not,” Harry replied playfully, turning to look at Jez with a smile.
“If you say so,” Jez raised her eyebrows and looked up. “Okay, see those stars over there?” she pointed up in front of them.
Harry scrunched up his nose and narrowed his eyes as he tried to see which stars Jez was pointing at, “Those three over there?” he said, pointing at the three brightest stars in the sky.
“Yeah,” Jez dropped her arm. “Ever heard of Orion’s Belt?”
“Yeah.”
“Know the story behind it?” Jez asked and looked over at Harry, who just shook his head. “Okay, well see the two stars above and below? The really bright ones.”
