Mugman's P.O.V

"Sorry Mugs." I look at Cups as we make our way to the entrance of the school, Inkwell National High School.

"Why are you apologizing?" I asked looking confused, he just look at me and stared for a bit. He was back to being so dark and sad.. "It's because of me.. That you are late," he said looking on the ground I could tell that he felt bad.

"Nah bro! At least I got to spend time with you again!" I said and smiled, I escort him to his classroom.. oh wait, "Cups which was your Classroom again?" I asked and he gave me a look then he looked around.

"We are in the same class," he said.

OOOh! Gosh I forgot! "Sorry Cups, you were always absent.. So I kinda forgot..he he" we went to the classroom which was on 2nd floor of the building, when I opened the classroom door. He held my hand tight, I looked at him and he was uneasy... "Hey bro, its gonna be okay.." I gave him a smile and proceeded to open the door.

Everyone's head in the class shot to us, The teacher.. Mr. Felix's eyes were wide open, "M-mr. Cuphead! You're back!" He said as he walk towards me and Cups, "Sir, is Cup's seat still open? If not, Can I ask for him to be seated next to me? please." I pleaded Mr. Felix and look at Cups.. He was searching for something in the room... Oh yeah...

To his disappointment...

What he was looking for is nowhere to be found. He just look to the ground with frowned eyebrows..

Mr. Felix patted my head and nodded, "glad to have you back Cups hoping for your cooperation in this class, also after the break, I want to talk with you." He smiled and called out a student to change seats, I look at Cups and he was still looking at the floor and he was silent.

~time skip~

"Come on Cups!! Let's go to the canteen to get something to eat!" I said cheerfully, hopefully I can get a smile, ".....sure," he said and smiled gently.

We were walking in the hallways to get to the canteen, it is a long walk to get there. This school is huge, even some parts of it has already forgotten.
It was awfully quiet... "Where is everyone? Its recess time, so it should be noisy.." I look around, "well.. Its not my probl-" I stopped walking and look at Cups who was looking outside the window.

"Cups, what are you looking at?" I said and look out the window, the front gate was crowded.. I wonder why.. "Why are they crowding there?" I ask and look at him, "Let's get to the canteen." He said and starts walking, I catch up to him smiling and he gave me a smile.

He's only showing those sweet smiles to me.. And nobody else.. Last time I checked, he smiled when it was..... No.. Move on..

When we got to the canteen, there were a few students maybe just the same level as us. We went to the counter to buy something to eat, "so bro what do you wan-"

"Can a ink body really be reborn?" A friendly girl voice said

"N-no! I don't think so.." Another voice said..

What are they talking about?.. Ink? Reborn?

I slowly look at Cups who was looking on the ground, he noticed me so he gave me one of those sweet smiles of his.. I know he heard what the girls were saying..

"W-we'll get a egg tart please and make it two,"

"Coming right up" a friendly puphead said,

"C-cups I got us some tart, I hope its okay for you," he simply nodded.

"Here ya go," puphead said as he went back to cleaning the counter and we walk slowly back to the classroom, I was eating my tart a bit slow and when I looked at Cups he already finished his.
