He awoke to a delicious aroma that made you hungry. Not that hungry, but the hungry where you're hungry for food.

He could also hear faint singing as he sat up in the bed.

"Oh shoot. It's our anniversary! I gotta think of something!"

He got up to get ready with thoughts about their anniversary in mind.

Smiley's POV

"Hui! Come on time for breakfa- " I yelled before I got cut off.

"I'm right here. No need to yell." He said before wrapping his arms around me for a back hug.

"C'mon, time for breakfast." I whispered.

We both walked over to the table to eat breakfast.

"C'mon, I wanna go out and do something fun." Hui said as he tugged on my arm.

"Whenever you say that, we end up doing nothing, " I reply as I give him a look.

"Just this once Smiley! I promise it won't be like the other times! If it ends up like that, you get to pick what we do next time."

He tried to make a cute face to convince me but failed.

"Fine, " I said, crossing my arms.

Hui let go of my arm and planted a kiss on my cheek before wrapping his arms around me for a hug. He rested his chin on my head. We stayed like that for a moment. But something felt off. I know I'm forgetting something. What is it? What am I forgetting? I know it's important. I know because I can feel it. I don't know how, but I know that what I'm forgetting is important.

We both got dressed and went out.

We went to a place called "Tastefulness at Midnight". It was a well decorated place with nice lighting. And not to mention it also gave you the feeling just by looking at it that it was very well-known for its food.

"Thanks you for placing your orders! I'll be back with your drinks," the waitress said before walking off.

We both nodded and I waited till the waitress was out of sight.

"Hui, why are you acting so strange?"  I asked him, leaning forward.

He looked at me in shock before saying, "Do you seriously not remember? Or are you joking?"

"I don't remember. Why do you think I'm asking?"

He gave me a blank stare. It was almost as if he didn't know what to say.

                              ***

We both stopped to sit at a bench at the park with our hands intertwined. I leaned onto Hui's shoulder.

"You really don't remember what today is?" He asked.

"Not really. Don't you remember that I have a bad memory?" I replied

"Hold on, I'll be right back ." He said before trying to get up.

I held onto his arm and looked at him with a pout on my face.

"Are you mad? I'm sorry," I said as I hugged his arm.

Hui looks at me and chuckles, "I'm not mad. It's actually a good thing that you don't remember. I won't be gone for that long anyways."

I let go of his arm as he goes off to do who knows what. I cross my arms and pout.

                                  ***

My eyes were covered with a blindfold.

"Hui? Is that you? What's happening?"

"Yeah, it's me. Just wait, you're gonna love this."

He held my hand before leading me somewhere.

As I felt like we stopped walking, the blindfold was taken off. Before me was a candlelit dinner by the seaside. Torches and candles surrounded us in the shape of a heart.

My eyes got teary as I clasped a hand over my mouth.

"Happy anniversary babe." He whispered before wrapping his arms around me for a hug.

I gave him a kiss before hugging him back.
