Twenty-eight:

(Harry's POV)

The latch of the basement door creaked open, causing Harry's heart to drop when he saw Zayn approaching down the stairs.

"Did ya miss me?" Zayn chuckled. "You look like you're having a blast down here.."

Harry kept quiet, watching as he walked closer to him.

"You didn't try to escape?" Zayn sneered. "Doesn't surprise me, I guess.. All royals are just a bunch of spineless cowards.."

Harry groaned through the cloth.

"Got something to say, tough guy?"

Zayn pulled the gag from his mouth.

"Please.." Harry licked his lips. "Just let me go, Zayn. Haven't I been through enough?"

"You.. Enough?" Zayn glared down at him. "Try having your entire fucking family stolen from you by a worthless king."

"Please.." Harry's eyes dampened. "I-I'm so sorry about your family! I would do anything to make it right!"

"You silver-tongued royals are all the same." Zayn mocked. "That's all you do.. Try and talk your way out of everything."

"But-"

"It may have worked on that weak minded Captain!" He leaned down, poking Harry's chest. "But it's not gonna work on me!"

"Please.. just let me go-" Harry whimpered.

"Shut up!" Zayn grabbed him by the throat. "Now I've just left another note on the Captain's ship.. Once he reads it and brings me my 10 million.. then I can finally get my revenge."

Harry struggled to escape as Zayn clutched his throat.

"W-What revenge?" He choked out.

"Killing that worthless Pirate King.." He leaned his face in, staring into Harry's green eyes with burning intensity. "And finally killing the King's only son."

Harry gulped.

Zayn finally released the pressure from his throat, causing him to cough violently and gasp for air.

"Enjoy breathing while you still can, your highness." Zayn snickered. "Cause you won't be doing it much longer."

Harry's eyes widened when he looked passed Zayn's head to see Louis and his crew creeping down the stairs with their swords drawn.

Louis put a finger to his lips, urging Harry to stay quiet.

Harry looked back at Zayn. He had to distract him.

"Can you tell me more about your family.." Harry asked. "What were they like?"

"Don't act like you give a shit about my family." Zayn poked his chest. "You have no right to ask about them!"

Harry flinched as he yelled in his face.

"I-I'm so sorry.." He stuttered. "I wish there was something I could do to make it right.."

Harry watched as the crew of pirates tip-toed closer to where they were.

Suddenly the sound of the floor creaking filled the room. Zayn turned his body around to see the 3 pirates standing in the middle of the basement.

Zayn acted fast. He grabbed Harry by his shirt and pulled him to his feet causing the Prince to yelp in surprise.

Louis' eyes widened when he saw Zayn holding the Prince in front of him with his sword pressed against his throat.

"Don't come any closer!" Zayn demanded. "I'll kill him, I swear!"

Tears streamed down Harry's face as he felt the sharp metal press against his throat.

"Tell your boys to back off! Now!" Zayn yelled.

"You heard 'em boys." Louis turned his head. "Back off."

The 2 pirates nodded, putting their weapons down and backing away slowly.

Zayn kept Harry close to his body, not letting him escape.

"Just let him go, Zayn.." Louis muttered. "Put the Prince down and face me like a man!"

"Shut up, Louis!" Zayn shouted. "You're not a man, you never were! You're weak! That's why you didn't even have the guts to kill this fucking royal in the first place!"

Zayn pressed the sword harder against his throat, causing Harry to cry out in pain.

"Okay, Okay.." Louis said. "Don't do anything stupid, alright.."

"Not only did you not have the guts to kill him!" Zayn snickered. "You actually fell in love with him instead! Pathetic!"

Harry looked up at Louis with terror in his face.

Louis grew angry listening to Zayn's incessant chuckling.

"You're not a real Pirate, Zayn." Louis mocked. "You're just a big fucking coward."

"Don't tempt me, Louis." Zayn clutched the sword tighter in his hand. Harry yelped. "I will kill him!"

"Why don't you kill me first..I'm the one who threw you overboard, remember?" Louis paused. "You can always kill him later.. He's an easy kill.. Me on the other hand, that might actually be a challenge for you."

"It wouldn't be a challenge." Zayn grunted. "I could best you in a sword fight.. no problem."

"Show me.." Louis held his sword tightly in his hand. "Or are you too scared?"

Zayn snarled.

"I am not scared."

"Prove it." Louis waited for him to make a move.

Zayn grunted to himself before throwing Harry to the ground. He tumbled to the side, looking up at them.

"I'm gonna enjoy killing you, Captain.." Zayn scowled, approaching Louis with his sword drawn.
