Chapter Six : The Tremors

I stared at Lucifer for a few minutes .

He stood in front of me , waiting for me to speak .

I opened my mouth and just as I was about to speak when pain surged through my Head like I was being knocked against a wall over and over again .

I couldn't handle it .
I screamed .

Lucifer pulled me closer to him and he cradled my head in his hand .

" Wait for it to pass , its just a tremor . The first of many actually and even I am surprised that it came this quick . "

I couldn't help it , I buried my head in his bare chest and cried .

He didn't speak throughout the 'tremor' , he just held me whilst I cried .
The pain felt like it lasted for three hours until it passed .

I sniffed , coughed and hesitantly lifted my head off his chest .
Tears streamed down my face as I spoke.

" What ... What was that ? "
My voice was not more than a whisper , a hushed tone .

" As I said it was a Tremor ... A sign that your horns are coming through from your skull . "
He demonstrated by tapping my forehead ever so lightly .

I pulled away from his touch as quick as I entered it .

My .
Horns .

" What the fuck are you talking about Lucifer ?! "
He didn't laugh at me , he didn't snicker . His lips held a straight and serious line .

" You ... " he started but didn't finish .

I narrowed my eyes .
" What , Lucifer , would you love to say to me ? "
I pressured annoyance into the word ' Love ' just to show him I wasn't playing around .

" Why do you fight me ? "
My breath caught . I felt a pang of guilt creep up and strangle me .

" I ... I ... Don't know why Lucifer . I just ... I don't like you . "

I waited for him to say a snappy comment .
He didn't .

Instead , he smiled at me .
" Coco , the honest truth is that no one likes me.  "
I didn't think of it that way .

I shook my head .
Dammit ! He knew I was lying .
" Fine ! Be an asshole that seems to know every little detail of my life ! "

He smirked .
" Oh ! You knew , you fucking knew ! "

I didn't want to talk to him any longer so I turned around and gave him the silent treatment .

Goosebumps formed on my neck and carried on until my spine then down my legs .

He was so close to me that my body actually reacted to his closeness .

" Go away . "
His hands traced my back like a map of Egypt before he wrapped his arms around my waist .

I turned to face him .
" I said go away , Lucifer ! "
I snapped. 
He wasn't shaken by me .

" You know very well what Faven would do to you . " I said flatly .

" Oh little one , You are so naive and small . Do you have any idea what kind of bargain you did with me ? "

I didn't .
I shook my head , my white hair bouncing with it .

" Your soul belongs to me , so do you . Those stars on your shoulder signify that you're mine . No one else's but mine.  "

I closed my eyes while I spoke .
" You're such an ass—"
I didn't get to finish because he kissed me .

I felt powerless as it consumed me .
I tried to keep my composure but my arms betrayed me. 
They were around his neck in one second .

The kissed deepened .

I finally found my common sense and broke the kiss off , pushing Lucifer away as I did .

It was much of a push because I was still in his arms .

" Stop ... Stop touching me Lucifer . " I said bluntly .

It was like I hadn't even spoken . He caressed the side of my face with his hand .

Pain .
Oh no .
A tremor .

" Not again . "
I clutched my head in my hands .

I felt them , at the base of my skull , tiny points like sharpened pencils that could slice through glass .

The tremor stopped. 

Lucifer wasn't looking at my face anymore but more further up .
My crown .

" It has begun . "
His eyes wondered to mine and he smiled .
I smiled back .

In that moment I found Lucifer , The devil , quite interesting .
