"Avni, Rhea is with me, we have left the city behind. There's no way she'll be able to reach home today in case she changes her mind," Ali hurriedly said. Avni smiled and expressed her gratitude to her best friend and disconnected the call. She looked at the house in front of which she was standing. The house that robbed her happiness. The house which was the Mehta's fortress. Dayawanti Mehta would no longer be able to save herself from drowning in bankruptcy. However, she had not won the game yet. She had to ensure that her brother Aman stayed in India, and for that, she needed to foil Dayawanti's plan of escaping to foreign lands with her brother.
Avni's thoughts wandered off to Neil for an instance. He had helped her a lot in finding Neela, helped her whenever she needed somebody's help (though she would never accept it) and right now she was the mastermind who conspired to break his marriage with her cousin sister. But, she thought again. This marriage was a mere compromise. Neil didn't love Rhea and neither did Rhea love him. This marriage would have been merely solemnised to inflate the Mehta's bank balance. That argument eased off the guilt resting upon her conscience to some extent. Taking in some fresh air, she made her way inside the Mehta mansion, hoping to find her brother's and Dayawanti's passports.
~Hours later
"How can this happen? We've enough of your drama!" exclaimed an angry Shwetha to the Mehta family. Rhea could not be found and Dayawanti had to bow down before the Khannas. Avni felt contended as she descended the stairs. She had burnt the two passports and knew that bankruptcy for Dayawanti at this stage was inevitable, hence her brother would not be going far away from her. However, her smile faded as her gaze landed upon Neil's sullen face which currently showed no signs of expressions. She wanted to stab herself for landing him into this state. Wait, rewind. Why did she have to stab herself? It was perhaps because of the guilt, nothing more. With that cohesive explanation, she reassured herself.
Neil noticed the isolated person. He very well knew that Ananya or rather Avni was responsible for whatever happened. Thanks to the DNA test conducted between Avni and Nanno, he was confirmed that she was Avni and he made out to some extent that she wanted to seek revenge from Dayawanti. And, he was planning to confront her. But, he was pissed at her. True, she had every right to be frustrated but she could not take the law in her hands and most importantly, she meddled in his life! Neil was not going to let her go. Fine, if she wants to play the game, then he would play too, but in his way.
As the Khannas turned to exit the Mehta mansion, Neil stared at Avni who was staring back at him. Avni looked so innocent, but appearances are often deceptive. He lazily smiled at her, signalling that he was in the game now. Avni, oblivious to Neil's plan to massacre her, returned the smile. Maybe, she had saved him from an unwanted marriage, and an unwanted relationship. But, who will save Avni from Neil's wrath?
