15. Breathless

The sky was clad with bright shining stars. The salubrious fresh air hit Avni's nostrils. She relaxed her limbs and her breaths became more even. Her eyes widened as she grew familiar with her surroundings. The sound of trickling water helped alleviate her emotional pain to some extent. There was a narrow river located at the backside of the lodge. The demesne was rife of trees and shrubs and it sheltered a rock cave. 

Avni looked at Neil, whose eyes were already geared towards her. Avni inhaled, as all thoughts vanished from her memory box, save one. And at that moment, she threw herself in Neil's arms, which were her second home. Neil sighed as he felt Avni's body loosen in his hold. He was aware that she needed to escape from the enclosed space, and he was right. 

Avni felt this place was magical. The only thoughts running in her mind were those of Neil...how she was heartbroken after his betrayal, not because she trusted him, the reason was also owing to the fact that she had started falling for him. The way his honey-pigmented eyes turned a shade darker when he stared at her intently. The rush of emotions overwhelming her when they first kissed on the terrace, the rain only fueling their desires. His never-ending support for her..even in the most difficult of times. Screw everything, screw her revenge plan, screw those people who did not give a damn about her! Neil tensed as Avni tightened her arms around him. He expected a few more tears, but she was still. He carefully sided her arms away as he concernedly cupped her cheeks with the palm of his hands.

"Avni," Neil uttered, feeling her staring at him. He gazed at her, hoping to decipher the new fashion with which she was looking at him. It was different and alien to him. Neil warmed up when she placed her hand over his.

"Neil," Avni said, as she felt her voice stabilising. Neil bit his lips, as his excitement spurred up, hoping that she would initiate something. Avni felt the words fail to escape from her throat. Perplexed at how she would be able to convey her feelings, she brought herself on her toes as Neil amusingly watched her actions. His impatience played against him as he circled his arm around her waist and pulled her even closer to him. As their bodies collided, Avni closed the distance between their lips, her hands reaching the back of his head, threading his hair. Neil sighed as the Avni's lips move against his. The motion oozed out intimacy. Her one hand rested on his chest, where she could feel the echo of his rocketing heart beats which matched hers. The friction of their lips left their senses seduced by each other. The fiery passion which Avni's eyes displayed paralleled Neil's as they dared open their eyes in the midst.

Avni did not flinch when Neil teasingly bit her lips, as his hand wandered off to her lower back and rested on hips, fondling with her flesh. Avni did not stop him from deepening their act of intimacy. Her hand trailed down his spine, causing Neil to tighten his grasp around her. 

As she grew breathless, Avni drew away unwillingly from Neil, her lips still wet. Neil smiled out of satisfaction while Avni did not lower her blushing face. Rather, her lips were parted, as she  attempted to say or rather confess something. Before Avni could voice out any word, Neil leaned his forehead against hers, huskily whispering," I love you too."

Hey everyone, I am so so sorry for disappearing for two weeks. I was caught up with some events, hence the delay. I hope you all like their confession and if not, I'm sorry for not meeting your expectations. 

Also, as this is intended to be a short story, there are about 2-3 parts left. I do not want to stretch it long, since the essence of the story will then be diluted.
