Today is the last day of school. The last day I'm living here in North Carolina, until I move to Los Angeles. My parents got a job that will give them good money over there, so we have to move.
I wasn't so thrilled of the idea of leaving all the memories and all my friends behind just like that, but I had no choice. I finished packing my bags, and grabbed my back pack to go to school.
*After school*
"I can't believe you're leaving already." Valeria pouts. "I'll miss you so much." she says. She hugs me, and starts crying. "Don't cry, Valeria. I'll come to visit as soon as I can. We'll skype all the time. Nothing will change between us, we'll still be best friends, I promise." I tell her.
I give my last goodbyes to all my friends, then enter the taxi to get to the airport. They all wave as I drive away.
*at airport*
I sit on the seat, waiting for the airplane to arrive. "So, how do you feel about living in L.A?" my dad smiles, trying to make a conversation.
"Well, besides leaving literally my life behind." I say, sighing. "Oh come on Marlene. You'll get to come to visit them any time you would like. But instead of thinking of that, think of what you'll get to do over there. It's always warm and you love summer weather," he says and I smile.
I guess it won't be that bad. He continues, "Look, just think of it like a new fresh start, just don't forget any of the past. Its a new chapter I'm your life, and ours." He says. I nod, and plug in my earphones.

I feel someone tap my shoulder and I open my eyes. My parents are up with their bags. I guess the airplane is here. I stand up and walk towards the plane entrance.
This is it. End of one chapter, and the beginning of a new one. I better make this one memorable. All I can think of is Valeria's face, crying and waving goodbye with the rest of my friends in line waving bye. I let a tear slip, as I enter the airplane and sit on my window seat.
"Attention boarders. fasten your seat beats as the plane is now flying." The flight attendant says through the mic. I buckle the belt, and but my earphones in. I look one last time at my hometown from from above, and close my eyes.

"Marlene. Wake up we're here." I hear my dad calling me. I open my eyes and see that we're in the plane. Oh yeah, we're in L.A. I get up and grab my bags from the thing that holds your carry ons.
We get off the plane, and stand by the area and wait for our suit cases. Finally, from what seemed like forever, we get our bags, and exit the air port. "Now what?" I ask.
"Uhm, there's a taxi right there." my dad says, pointing at the yellow taxi car. We get in the taxi and my dad gives the directions of our new home. While we are arriving I text Valeria.
CONVERSATION:
Marlene: Hey Valerie (: I just landed and we're in a taxi on our way to my new home. Miss you already );
Valerie: Hey baby girl! So glad you made it safely. Skype me as soon as you get there! I'm at the movies with Jake so ttyl!
I reply with an okay and turn off my phone. Jake is her brother. They are very kind to each other and they bond more than any other sibling.
The taxi stops and we are in front of the house. May I say, the house is quite big. It has big windows and the backyard is huge, or at least that's what I see from the front. My dad pays the taxi driver while my mom and I get down and enter the house.
"It's beautiful. And it comes with a maid too!" my mom says, smiling. That's incredible.
We enter the house and by surprise, it's already furnished. I enter my room and it's empty except for the bed, dresser, and nightstand.
Well, I have a lot of shopping to do tomorrow.
It is about 7:30 in the night, and I am extremely tired. The room is quite big. Bigger than the one at home. It has it's own bathroom and it's own balcony?!
The bathroom is also with carpets and curtain already. It's theme color is pink. Well then.
My mother probably told the maid lady to furnish the home.
I chose the room all the way in the back of the house, and all the way upstairs. I walk out the balcony and see that it has a little staircase that you can lower down so you can get out. The backyard isn't as big as I thought it was.
It has a pool, and a deck with little bit of grass space.
I go back to my room and start hanging my clothes in the closet. It's basically a walk in closet. I love it. I hang my clothes in order by colors, and classify my shoes in their own sections.
I finish that, and open the other bag I have with little stuff I had in my old room, that I want to put in here. There's a box full of pictures where I will be taping onto one of my walls, and frames I will put near my bed.
I tape all the pictures in a scattered way, making it into a little oval shape. Pretty. I hang the frames onto the top part of my bed, where the headboard is. They are six squared frames, making a picture of the Eiffel Tower and the famous London clock.
I take out the rest of my clothing that is underwear's, bras, socks, etc. and put them in my dresser. I put my perfumes and lotions on the top part, with a picture frame with me and all my friends. I take out yet another box with lights, and hang them around about 5 inches lower than the ceiling, making it go all around my room. It's beautiful. I finish and look at the time 9:30?!
I put my luggage in a corner of my room, and go to the bathroom to shower. I don't wash my hair because I washed it the previous night, and I don't like washing it so much cause it will get dry. I don't know, that's how my hair is.
I finish up and I turn off the water, and grab the towel and wrap it around my body. I brush my teeth, and go to my dresser and put on my panties and bra. I grab my gray v neck pj shirt, and my red plaid pj pants, and put them on.
I grab my phone and lay on my bed. The sheets are white with black designs on it. I pull out the covers and get under the sheets. I scroll through twitter one last time, before I turn off my phone and go to sleep.
