Job Interview

Damn, I had that dream again! I always have the same exact nightmare of my past. I'm 7 years old and at school all alone in the classroom and somehow everything around me bends to my will, or in other words it does what I want it to do. Then I walk outside to the playground where there are kids shouting and screaming at me saying " Ah stay away from her, she's dangerous!" and " Look, it's Corina the witch!" Then I wake up crying. "Ugh!!! I hate having this power, I feel like I'm the only person with any powers." I hit my head and both hands in the shape of fists on the wall and then start to cry even more. After my morning tantrum, i got ready, grabbed my resume and headed to my job interview.

I drove my car to the job interview since I'm 22 years old now and have my driver's license. I parked my car then went inside and asked for the manager of the dollar store. I had to wait about 5 minutes to start the interview because he was working with a customer. I got the job, but i won't start until tomorrow and i have to be there by 7 o'clock, I also get thursday's off. I went back to my apartment and took a nap. I awoke screaming with no idea why. I then went into my living room and started watching tv. Two hours later it was 6:34 and I heard a meowing from outside. I waited 10 minutes hoping the cat would go away, but it didn't so I went outside and then it suddenly stopped. I didn't even see a cat! I thought I was going crazy!

The next day I went to work. I normally try not to use my powers in front of people. I have control over my powers now, but back then I didn't. I suddenly had a flashback to when I was 7. I gained focus again after I stupidly scared myself with a freaking flashback!!! I helped stock the shelves and told people where items were in the store. Around 12, i went on break. I was the only one in the breakroom, so I decided to make my lunch with my powers just for fun. I made me a pb and j sandwich, after I ate, I went back to work again. When my shift was over, i left the store and headed towards my car. I heard a rustling in the bushes, it was also very windy. I then heard a voice calling my name, saying " Corina.....Corina come here, Corina." I was very scared and frightened. I didn't know what to do. I was drawn to the voice with no idea why, was it because the person sounded like Kate, the only friend I had. When I got to the bushes, I looked around and around, but saw no one. I tried to get home as fast as I could. All the sudden I see bright lights heading towards my car. After that everything around me was pitch black.

I was surrounded in black for what seemed like mere minutes, but when I awoke, I was in a strange room with no one around. I couldn't feel my legs, that were both in casts hung by wires. I took off part of the covers that were on top of me to find that I was wearing a hospital patient outfit. I wondered what happened, where did all these cuts and bruises come from. A nurse then came into the room. She started to talk to me "Oh, you're awake now. You were in some accident." "What accident?" I asked. She said "You don't remember? You were in a car accident. The other person in the crash died, but you survived. You might have a hard time adjusting now, because you're paralyzed from the waist down." I started mumbling to myself, "No, no, no, this can't be happening to me. I mean, I knew something bad would happen to me sooner or later, because of these cursed powers." My eyes widened and then the machines monitoring me started beeping like crazy. It became hard for me to breathe, then again, everything went black.
