The alarm read 5:45 am as it loudly disrupted the peaceful quiet of the little neighborhood that I call home, as I got out of bed drowsily and carried on with my usual morning routine. 'It's still dark out.' I thought as the corners of my lips twitched upwards to a smile. I like it when I wake up to a dark sky. It means I get to watch the sun rise from below the ground to greet the early risers and to officially start a new day.
I brushed my teeth enthusiastically and after 15 seconds I hurried up to the roof of my house where I would always watch the sunrise. It amazes me actually, how your mood can be changed from a gloomy early morning to the sun rising making beautiful colored patterns in the sky in just 15 seconds. I usually sit in the roof for whenever I need inspiration or plainly to watch the sky in whatever things it may do. People call me a stalker, I usually dismiss it, but I guess I've been stalking the sky everyday ever since I was a little kid.
I sighed as I looked up at the starry sky, impatiently waiting for the sun to come. I glanced at the clock I kept on the roof for I have a habit of forgetting about time and letting myself intake the lovely shades of color the sky has to offer. It read 6:05. I wonder what's taking the sun so long. I still have school later, and I'm afraid I'll have to go back soon to prepare.
As I was getting up, a sudden change of shades in the sky interrupted my musings. I relaxed at the sight of the sun as it brightens up the dark blues and fadens the stars full of faults. I sat back down, and took in the fresh morning breeze that directed towards me, and felt a quick rush of happiness that, undoubtedly, the sunrise has provided. The sky was soon bombarded with purples and pinks, as I watched amazed at the sight even though I've seen the same thing almost everyday for 10 or so years. 'It's amazing,' I thought, 'how my world can brighten in just 15 seconds of a sunrise.'
After minutes of staring at the sky I realized I have to prepare for school. The clock read 6:14 as I hurredly went around the house preparing. I took my essay-filled notebooks and closed my books which were open due to studying. I was planning to skip breakfast, but for the sake of my mom I didn't. After what seemed like eternity, I glanced once again at the clock and hoped that I won't be late. I kissed my mom goodbye, and speed-walked to school.
As I got to school I couldn't be more relieved, the clock read 7:03. Class doesn't start 'til 7:30. As I walked to the entrance of my school I wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone. My stuff went flying out of my bag and to the edge of the world they go. I went to get my stuff from the floor and uttered a million apologies. Good thing that person wasn't holding anything. I looked up to see who it was, and in 15 seconds my whole anatomy went haywire. My pupils turned so small that if I had a mirror I would only see white, my palms became so sweaty I had difficulty getting my notebook, my brain was telling me to run far, far away but I was rooted to the spot.
