2 My Mom’s Surprise.

My head is aching. I’m lying on my bed and it’s hard to open my eyes. So decided to rise and reach for my phone under my pillow. Suddenly, I remembered something. Something about what happened last night. I opened my eyes and I saw my alarm clock. It’s 9:00 in the morning. I’m late for school! OMG! What am I thinking!? Then there’s something in back of my mind said that I graduated. I took a sigh and lay back at my bed’s headboard. There is something strange going on to that basement and what just happened last night? I must know that. The last time I remembered I went to that basement is when I’m fourteen years old. I can’t figure out what does Nanny did there and who was she talking to.

Someone knocked my door. “Who is it?” I said.

“It is me, Katherine” a woman’s voice. It was my Mom. She hardly goes here in my room, unless I did something wrong. I remembered when she came in here when she found out that I slept at Harper’s house.

“Come in” I replied.

She opened the door and went inside. “I think you already know what you did that makes me come here this morning.” She said. Her attire was corporate. I think she is about to go for a meeting or something. She is quite known here in town for her specialties not only as an astronomer but also as a weather person. She speaks to the News Casters and tells what’s up with the weather. She couldn’t get busier than that. She never actually interact with me or to any person in this house, except Nanny, she said Nanny took care of her since she was young.

“Yes” I whispered. I don’t really like to be reprimanded but it’s always been so good to go out at night.

“Disobeying me is useless Raine.”

“But if you could only more free to hang out with me.” I looked away.

“Raine, alright I’ll promise we’ll have a time together. But also promise me that you’ll be going to start college. I don’t want you to just sit here and do nothing.”

“Will you let Harper come to me to that University?”

“I’m sure I can my dear.” She kissed me on my forehead and left the room.

                                ○○○

“I’m sure I can handle myself to college.” I said to while walking to the streets with Harper.

“Yeah. I’m sure there are thousands of boys in college.” She giggled.

This is what I love about Harper she’s so dramatic when it comes on expressions. Something I don’t like is that she’s always been old fashioned. She always dress like 70’s where a band goes around her head and her lightly blond hair is curled and a bubbly blouse and a cute long skirt which made her look like 70’s Cher.

We walked to shops and bought stuffs for our new dorm. I’m excited to see the whole new place for me. We bought some new shoes, dresses and even accessories. I saw a shop full of outer space designs. It feels like Lady Gaga is selling them. I’m about to go inside but Harper pulled me.

“Come on! I’m hungry. Let’s go and grab some bread.”

We got exhausted so we decided to go to Mister Donuts and grab some coffee and breads. I went for a croissant while she likes her donuts. My phone rang and I saw my Mom calling.

“Hey, Mom.”

“Dear, Meet meat the Central Park at the fountain.”

“What? I’m here at the mall with Harper.”
