Detective Eric Holmes took a pull of his cigarette before putting it under the heel of his shoe pressing it into the ground. Awakened out of his sleep at dawn on his day off which he planned to spend relaxing he's dropped with a sudden case. The suspect an unidentified woman who appears to have died from a gunshot wound. He stands over an unmarked grave as police work on removing the body. The cemetery is marked off as yellow tape is extended around the two block long burial ground.
While men work on the body Eric goes to work in his mind observing every little detail, over thinking was his talent, and it helped him solve hundreds of cases over the past twenty years that he's worked in homicide. He makes a visual replay of what could've went down right now the scene was individuals disposing of a body, the setting is late night  it had to be pitch black, dark enough not to be noticed.
He looks around the grave and sees how deep it is, he already checked and the last burial was over three years ago. He knew it took hours to dig a grave which meant there were several involved, and most likely one was left to dig the grave while the others killed the woman. He knew it was premeditated.
"Hey someone come here" he says signaling for a forensic specialist as he spots specks of blood in the soil, it could be a clue.
"There's blood here take a sample for evidence" he orders as the man gets right to work.
He was hoping the blood would be from the killer and if so it would be the first lead. While he went over the current scene in his head his partner Emily walks up. Ten years younger Emily was new to homicide but not law enforcement being a cop for eight years before moving to homicide two years ago. She had the privilege of working with the best in the business due to his former partner retiring after being diagnosed with lung cancer. The relationship was more teacher and student, he talked she listened, he worked and she studied. She contributed to cases but was not in charge and didn't intend to be just hoping to be good enough to stay on track with Eric.
"So what we have here" she says.
"Its murder, we have to run tests but the cause of death is clearly a gunshot. Killer or killers dug a grave and dumped the body, pretty good location too this is a closed cemetery lucky for us a couple of kids playing football discovered the grave"
"So what's our next move"
"Well we have to wait for the official autopsy then run tests on evidence found, we got blood samples and even this"
Eric holds up a card depicting the address of a tattoo parlor.
"So she got a tattoo"
"Or maybe the killer did but some way somehow she's connected with this parlor. I need statements from everyone on this block, maybe someone seen or heard something so we'll start on that now. Men are still combing out the area to see if we can find anything else"
"And I thought we was going to have an easy case"
"I wish but nothings easy anymore. Looks like we have our work set out for us on this one, and I was just about to put in for a vacation"
"Well it's gonna be a long day, coffee at IHOP"
"You read my mind" Eric says with a warm smile.
The attraction between the two obvious but Eric didn't act on his emotions. He was quite the looker approaching fifty he could go for forty and sported a full head of soft silver hair that he wore with light gel. His jawline structured perfectly and nose was narrow with his ice blue eyes narrow and mysterious. He stood five ten and was in decent shape for his age with full arms and broad shoulders. Before entering law enforcement he contributed eight years to the Marines.
He was the best at what he did and that was solve murder cases so when one came by that wasn't so simple he was the first one the captain called. Rumors circled around the office him and Emily were sleeping together but it wasn't true even thought she wouldn't of mind. Every lady there wish they were, Eric was the most eligible bachelor handsome single never married and no kids. Some wonder why that was the case but he didn't disclose too much of his personal information work was his main priority. Emily never been attracted to a Caucasian male before but Eric changed that, he had the looks of a movie star but was down to earth like a ordinary guy. They spent most of their time together so they naturally took a liking to each other.
"I'll drive let's get something to eat and get on the ball"
Now with the blueprint laid out Eric and Emily could focus on their main objective finding suspects. Prize made his way up the stairs into HotBeatz. The studio played hosts to several artists and was the home of several hits. He walked in greeting the men and engineers as he grabbed a beer watching the eye candy in the presence. Bishop and Knocks already beat him to the studio sitting enjoying a blunt and the company of women.
"Whats up pimp" Bishop said while he sat palming the ass of a skinny redbone who sat on his lap in a red thong and bra sipping Tequila.
"I heard you got some fire you want to drop" Kenneth said who was the main engineer.
Kenneth and Prize worked together before on previous tracks when he released his first underground mixtape.
"Its been a while since we sparked up like this, I'm here to see what you got"
"Yeah it's gonna be lit trust but where the weed at"
"Nigga you know I got you" Kenneth said passing a thick freshly rolled blunt to him.
Prize sparked the blunt taking a pull entering the recording booth. This was his atmosphere his friends around, countless females, weed, and liquor. He was ready to make a record and Tre Fly was his target. The bars was set and song finalized only after two tries. Prize listened back as he sat at the engineering table drinking his Patron. Heads noded in the background as they listened while partying, Bishop took the liberty of recording love on Facebook with the title it's going down, all of his followers were informed the rapper has struck back. Prize was no stranger to controversy, and was known for fighting as well as sending sub lines to any rapper who dared to speak wrongfully on his name and Tre Fly would be no different. After a few edits mad cuts from the magic hands of Kenneth the diss track was ready for the fans to hear and was uploaded straight to his fan page garnering over a thousand views within the first hour, the media took notice.
