Three Years Later
When Raiden finally woke up, needless to say, he was shocked.
First of all, he had apologized for his change in behavior and rudely attacking Outworld. He had personally arrived at Ko'tal Kahn's fortress to tell him this. There were no harsh words exchanged (except for a very punishing punch delivered by Torr, Ferra cheering in the background with the others smiling), and the peace between Earthrealm and Outworld was growing slowly.
Then, there was the fact that he could now feel a surge of energy in his kombatants. Through questioning the Elder Gods, he learned that they had instilled this energy, and this granted them immortality, which surprised the thunder god. It's a shame that the others couldn't receive this reward. He had been thinking of Liu Kang and Kung Lao after hearing about this.
Lastly, he had been surprised by the details of the tournament. At a get-together hosted by the Special Forces, Raiden had heard about another kombatant who had gone by the alias of "Diamond Direwolf". This person had at first helped the Outworldians against Raiden's attacks, but in the end, when she was revealed to be the killer of her own family, they ended her while Bo' Rai Cho helped to cleanse Raiden.
It was this last bit of information that had Raiden scratching his head at. He had never heard of anyone with this kind of potential. It seemed as though this strong elemental had godly powers. He wanted to find out more about the origins of this being.
He was going through the Sky Temple's library. He had finally found this book dating back almost five thousand years ago. Looking through it, he found the following text, inscribed in Korean, for some strange reason.
Legend tells of gods with ultimate power. These beings were once known as the Ancient Ones. The universe had once been bleak, deprived of life. We had never existed. The king of these gods, Abaddon, had four daughters with his wife, Penelope.
The eldest, Eleanor, had the knowledge of wisdom and peace. She had wavy golden hair and deep blue eyes. Eleanor was the protecter of the innocent, and was given the title of the Goddess of the North. She was the Dragon.
The second oldest, Emma, was rude and brash. She had long and straight ebony hair and hazel eyes. Emma tended to make decisions very quickly, and most ended in being victorious. She was known as the Goddess of the West, the Serpent.
The younger sister after her was named Elina. She had fiery red hair and hazel-brown eyes. Elina was bright and prideful, and could brighten anyone's life. She was the Goddess of the East, the Phoenix.
And the youngest was named Evangelina. She had light brown hair, but what was more unusual was the fact that she had two different colored eyes. One was an icy blue, the other was a fiery hazel. Slightly frightened of her appearance, her parents took her form away and gave her golden hair and hazel eyes. She was quiet, but understanding; rude, but defensive. She was known as the Goddess of the South, the Direwolf.
Evangelina was different from her other sisters. They in turn learned to hate her because of this, and her parent's disrespect towards her. One day, when she was hiding from her sisters, Evangelina found the library, and in it, the forbidden books. She had spent all day in there, reading these. They were forbidden because of their writings of life, and at that night, she underwent the ceremony, and created planets of life. She had a particular liking towards one of these planets, and called it Terra (later known as Earth).
She was found out for her meddling, and her father was overthrown by his subjects, and they forced him and his family to reside forever in one of the planets his own daughter had created. Finding themselves on Terra, they built a home and lived there for many thousands of years.
However, tensions continued to rise in the family. The family blamed the youngest for putting them in their situation, and one day, their father went insane. He first killed his wife, then moved on to throwing his daughters into a single dry well.
For days, they lay there in pain. Their father would bring up Evangelina and torture her. Why only her, we do not know, but maybe because her sisters forced her to do so? These tortures consisted of cutting, whipping, electrifying, claustrophobic practices, mental breakdowns, and unwanted sexual advancements.
One day, somehow, a baby boy was thrown down the well. Evangelina cared for this newcomer, and when he was old enough, she helped him to climb up the walls and escape. He had promised to return with help. She never saw him again.
One day, in the middle of torturing her, Evangelina broke. She unleashed her building fury and wrath, destroying everything. She had killed her family. Frightened, she ran away. She was six years old at the recorded time in his years (six-thousand years in human years). She was never seen or heard from again.
And then, Raiden knew who she was.
