*SOPHIA'S POV:
"Say it again,"
"No,"
"Please?"
"I've already said it a thousand times!"
"And it's still music to my ears. Pleeeease, Sophie? One more time."
"Shawn, you said that the last ten times."
"I mean it this time."
I glared at him with an expression of annoyance, but the small smile on my face proved it to be fake. He stared at me with innocent glossy eyes; it reminded me of a child waiting for his mother's response to whether or not he could get the toy he desired. I gave in. "I do."
"There it is, there it is!" he boasted, picking me up and swinging me around. A loud laugh couldn't help but escape my throat. "You know what sounds better than that though?"
"What?"
"Sophia Mendes,"
"Jeez Shawn, you marry the girl of your dreams today and you act like it was the highlight of your life or something." I joked, twiddling with his fingers as we walked along the beach.
I saw determination in his face as if he was trying to think of a comeback, but his mind was so full of elation that his sarcasm had been swallowed. "I got nothing."
"Don't hurt yourself, Mendes. Forever and always is supposed to last us more than one night." I smirked, loosening my grip on his hand and taking off towards the water.
"Do not get washed away at sea! There are no lifeguards out at midnight, Sophia Mendes!"
"Stop acting like a mom and start acting like a husband! I bet ya can't catch me!" I screamed over the crash of the waves.
"You wanna fucking bet?" he retorted, lunging towards me.
"No!" I squealed, splashing water at him. It wasn't very effective and neither was having shorter legs than the towering boy chasing me. He eventually caught me and the both of us tumbled into the salty water. "Now look what you've done! We're both soaked!"
"You asked for it."
"I'm divorcing you."
"You already said that at the reception."
"You stepped on my foot while we were slow dancing."
"It wouldn't have happened if you could just fucking dance."
"Excuse me?" I shouted, getting water in my mouth in the process.
"Don't choke too hard—you'll be doing plenty of that later tonight." Shawn smirked.
I splashed an arm's full of water in his face for that inappropriate comment, causing him to start coughing, too. "It's not pleasant, is it?" I asked, standing from the water.
Shawn yanked me down on top of him again once we were farther from the water. I hovered over him as we chuckled. It felt like such a pure moment; no one else was on the beach, the moonlight illuminated the starry sky, and the gentle waves crashed along the shore.
"Do you remember the night I brought you here? The last day of our freshman spring semester?" he asked as I lay my head on his chest.
"You said you wanted fulfill that promise you made to me at the beginning of summer." I answered. "You had promised me that we could sleep on the beach but we found out that hundreds of crabs like to scurry around at night and that it wouldn't be a good idea."
"So we just decided to do exactly what we're doing right now." he continued.
"I can't believe it's been four years." I said, furrowing my eyebrows. "It seems like only yesterday we were fighting a demon firefly."
Shawn let out a small laugh and patted my back. "Let's not do that again, okay?"
"Deal," I responded. I lifted my head to give him a peck on the lips. Of course it turned into something much more passionate, how could it not? Two newlyweds on a beach in the middle of the night? That totally calls for passionate kisses. I pulled away breathlessly, gazing at his moonlit facial features.
"Sophia Mendes," Shawn started, "You are the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me."
My heart fluttered at his words. I knew I had been lucky for a while now, but some nights it just really hits me. I'm in love. I'm so in love with this boy beneath me and nothing will ever stand between that. Our bodies mold together perfectly and our hearts gracefully intertwine with one another's.
Love wasn't even a concept anymore. Love was a 6'2 boy with fluffy brown hair and mesmerizing brown eyes. Love was a muscular teddy bear that gave you the strongest and sweetest embraces. Love was a talented musician that could make angels swoon with the melodies that flow from his throat. Love was a concerned facial expression every time he detected a slight change in your tone. Love was someone that was selfless, caring, intelligent, and loyal. Love was my husband.
That summer, he could've left. He could've ended it all by ending his life, ending my life, etc. He had the opportunity to call my family and me psychotic because of our past. He didn't have to believe any of it—but he did. He chose to fight, he chose to believe, he chose to win. I couldn't have done it by myself, and if it weren't for his strength, determination, and most importantly his love, we wouldn't be where we are right now.
Find that kind of love. Search for the person who won't give up when times get rough. Search for the person who believes in you; search for someone who supports your hopes and dreams, no matter how spectacular they may be. Find the person who will never stop showering you with affection and will never stop lifting you higher into the world. Find someone who loves you as much as you love them and settle for nothing less.
Love won't always be hugs and kisses, but it will always be this indescribable sensation. It'll be fluttering in your heart, twisting in your stomach, tingling at your fingertips, twitching in your nose, and flushing at your cheeks. Love is felt differently among everyone; you have to develop your own understanding.
What's my understanding? I hadn't figured it out until that eventful summer. Out of every emotion felt in those three months, I realized my kind of love made me feel, well. . .Insane?

Thank you.
Thank you to everyone that has been with me over these past few years! I started this for my adoration of Magcon; I never could've imagined that it would've turned into something like this. Shawn Mendes is selling out arenas and is up there with the big dogs! Who would've thought that little muffin could take over the world?
If you have any questions (whether it'd be about me or the story), feel free to ask! Tell me your thoughts, concepts, maybe even predictions about the happy *married* couple. Use your creativity if you're a little bored in this dreary month of November.
Again, thank you to everyone. I love you all. I do have another account where I write bullshit short stories to help me sometimes. If you ever get bored or you're interested in reading, the account is ambrosialrose.
