Summary: Jake and Leah are having a Thanksgiving baptism for their little girl, Charlotte.
Thanksgiving Christian
I gave birth to our little girl Charlotte two months ago, and Jake and I talked about doing the Christian tradition on Thanksgiving morning. I made her booties to go with her Christian dress. I'm not good at making anything from scratch, but her booties came out better than I expected.
I also made my mom her scarf to go with her dress, and I made mine to match my dress.
After the baptism, we went back to my mom and Charlie's house for Thanksgiving Day dinner. We always went over to their house for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Charlie was a good cook.
Jake raved about how good his cooking was. Also since Bella went to Renee and Phil's for the weekend, and Billy had passed away a month before Halloween, we ate our meals and then we would go over to the cemetery to visit his grave.
We left Charlotte with my mom and Charlie since the weather wasn't warm. When we walked passed my dad’s headstone -- I couldn't help but cry. I stopped and put my scarf on his headstone and kissed it. In a whisper, I said, “I miss you, Dad.” I looked up to see Jake standing there rubbing my arm.
He whispered back to me, “Your dad would have been proud of you, and he would love Charlotte too.” I replied, “You would've loved him and your dad too.”
As I was started to get up, he pulled me into his arms and gave me a hug. We stood there for a minute before we decided to head back to our house and watch a movie together, after Sue offered to watch Charlotte for a night or two since we hardly had anytime to ourselves.
