Christmas Wedding
It took me seven months to make my artificial flowers and our table setting. Jake and I agreed that since we barely had any extra money to buy our wedding party flowers and Boutonnieres, it would mean a lot more if I did it myself.
Our wedding was going to be in the snow and our colors were white, red, and green. The guys had green ties, and the girls had green dresses with white ribbons.
The dresses looked awesome on my bridesmaids and my maid of honor. I had a white gown with red and green ribbon falling down below my knees. I wished I could get pictures of our wedding dresses, but we couldn't afford a photographer to take pictures.
But our wedding turned out to be a beautiful and awesome time. The best part was when it snowed. Yes, I love the snow. My mom had a red dress on, and she looked gorgeous in it. My Dad had a black tux on. Of course, my groom looked very handsome.
Our song was Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley. We both wanted a different kind of wedding. The one thing I really wanted was a sleigh ride to the hall, but we couldn't afford that either. We were saving money for our honeymoon to Paris.
It snowed when we were there. I wasn't stupid this time. I even took pictures. We took a tour twice, and we just stayed in our hotel for the remaining time to cuddle up, making love to each other. I also conceived right after Christmas.
Once we found out that I was having a baby boy, we named him Noel. We thought it was fitting because I got pregnant the week of Christmas. We painted his room with Christmas colors. I made his first sweater since he was born in the fall, and the guys made his crib. Most of his stuff was hand made. I really didn't like to buy anything. It doesn't mean much. Nothing is more sentimental than when you make it yourself.
