Jake had liked Leah for the longest time, and they had been serious for about two years. Now, it's New Year's. His New Year's resolution was to ask her to marry him.
The Proposal
This New Year's I was going to ask Leah to marry me. It was time to take a step forward in our relationship and since we were going to be alone, and it would be a great time to ask her. I knew she would be so happy that I finally got to ask her to marry me.
I got her a one and half carat diamond ring. I saved up for it. We were the only ones that weren't married yet. Bella and Paul just got married on the fourth of July.
I always wanted to ask her to marry me, but I didn't want to copy any of my packmates. She knew I had picked out a hotel and a party for New Year's Eve, but she had no idea what to expect tonight. She told me that she asked Emily to come over so she could help her find something sexy to wear.
Knowing Emily, she's doing all the work for Leah, since she never really wore anything sexy. This was her special night. The only one that I told about it was Sam. He had asked if he could tell Emily, and he also said she wouldn't tell Leah.
This was my main New Year's resolution, to ask her to marry me. Yes, I was worried about the slight chance of her rejecting the offer of being my wife.
****** *******
A minute to midnight...
I was worried and nervous at the same time. We were in our hotel room counting down until the new year. When the countdown got to five, I got down on one knee, took out the bob, and opened it. I took her hand and started my proposal. When I looked up at her, she smiled and nodded her head “yes”. I slipped the ring on her finger, picked her up, and kissed her for the new year. This was the best New Year's resolution I ever did, and I kept it.
She whispered to me, “I love you, Jake!” I whispered back in kind, and I kissed her passionately.
